GARY TREIBER
GARY TREIBER 1941 ~ 2023 Gary Bruce Treiber passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his wife, Marj; daughter, Michella and sisters Jeanette Loney and Sharon Hirsche. Gary is also survived by his brother-in-law, Garry Matolsci; sister-in-law, Donna Matolsci and many wonderful friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Reinhold ‘Ron’ and Martha Treiber; parents-in-law, Garry and Vera Matolsci and brothers-in-law, Roy Loney and Myron Hirsche. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s for their wonderful care. At Gary’s request, there will be not be a formal funeral service. In its place, a Come & Go Celebration of his life will be held at the German Canadian Harmony Club, 1 – 1 Street S.E., Redcliff on Saturday, July 15, 2023, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Margery E. RUDOLF THOME 1951 ~ 2023 Rudolf “Rudy” Michael Thome of Medicine Hat, father to Rudy and beloved brother, uncle and friend passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023 at the age of 71 years following a courageous battle with cancer. Rudy had a successful career in the pipeline industry and worked around the world, making friends wherever he went. A memorial service will be held at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating. LEMONT TABOR February 1, 1943 ~ July 9, 2023
The family of Lemont John Tabor, beloved husband of Alida, announce his peaceful passing at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the age of 80 years. Along with Alida, Lemont leaves to cherish his memory: son, Ryan (Terri) Tabor; daughter, Andrea Tabor (Daniel Tieman); step-son, Troy (Catherine) Hildenbrand; grandchildren, Rileigh and Reese Tabor; step-grandchildren, Jayden and Jenna Hildenbrand and his beloved dog, Molli. Lemont is also survived by his sister, Bonnie Tabor and her family and sister-in-law, Grace (Harold) Phillips who helped the family throughout Lemont’s journey. He was predeceased by his father, John Frank Tabor and his mother, Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Young. Lemont had a successful career as the Regional Manager with AGT and in his later years as a real estate agent at Royal LePage. Lemont was a great golfer and an avid curler but his family was his pride and joy! He fought hard to the end and never complained, nor did he let anyone know how bad the pain was. He was a soft spoken gentleman and a special person to all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Home for the care they provided to Lemont in his final days. A Private Graveside Service in Lemont’s honour will be held at Hillside Cemetery. OLINDA STICKELMIER
OLINDA STICKELMIER July 5, 1934 – July 9, 2023
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our loving mom, grandma and great grandma, Olinda. She leaves behind her daughters Norma (Ronnie) Lippert, Karan (Dave) Eglese and Suzette (Kevin) Parahoniak; six grandchildren, Lindsay (Jay) Mellen and Andrea (Tyler) Stahl; Brett (Talana) Stickelmier and Bradley (Kierra) Stickelmier; Elliot (Evette) Eglese; Kenzie (Stefan) Cameron; eight great grandchildren, Emily and Luke Mellen, Zac and Livia Stahl, Sage Stickelmier, Saylor Eglese, and Oliver and Harlan Gutfriend and one sister Marlene Hennessey. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ewald in 2012; one grandson, Emerson Eglese in 2017, and one son Brian Stickelmier in 2021; her parents Gustav and Pauline Bauer; brothers, Alfred, Ervin, Lloyd, Bill, Edward and Denis and sisters, Pauline, Freida, Alvina and Rose along with numerous in-laws. Olinda was born just outside of Burstall on the family farm. She loved to crochet, play cards and various board games with family and friends. Olinda was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s at the age of 85 years and was moved into the Good Samaritans care facility. Her family would like to thank the staff at Good Sam’s for the great care and compassion shown towards Olinda and her family. Olinda passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to service time. The funeral service will be held at Victory Lutheran Church (2793 Southview Drive SE) on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Roland Weisbrot officiating. FRANK SCHELL
FRANK SCHELL 1932 ~ 2023 Frank Schell passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the age of 91 years, beloved husband of Katherine Schell of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his brother Gilbert, Debbie Schell and family ; his three sons Rob (Charlene) Schell and their children, Kim Nicolson (Jason Ballam and their daughter Ava) Chelsey (Rudy) Alvarez (their children Hallie and Emmett), Jayden Schell (Kailey Henke), Jory (Jessica) Schell; Charlie (Michelle) Schell and their children, Haley Schell (Kasha Aleksijuk, their son Weston), and Lane Schell; Kevin Schell and his children, Alicia (her son Parker), Ashley Schell and one daughter, Kathy (Tracy) Lecuyer. He was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Rose Schell; sisters, Margaret (Tom) Moser, Mary Ann (Ron) Neilson; brothers, Mike (Arlene) Schell and Vincent Schell in infancy. Frank was born to Thomas and Rose Schell on February 26, 1932, and was raised on the family farm near Mendham, Saskatchewan. Frank married Katherine Hirsch on November 3, 1954, and they enjoyed 69 years of marriage. They raised four children on the family farm before moving to Medicine Hat in 1995. They continued to enjoy farming and spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who brought them great joy. Frank loved farming with his family and taking in many auction sales with his buddies. A private family service will be held at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff at Masterpiece for their wonderful care.
