ISABEL LISKE

1926 ~ ISABEL LISKE ~ 2023
Isabel Liske of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Victor Liske, passed away on Sunday, February 19th, 2023 at the age of 96 years. Isabel leaves to cherish her memory her children, Vic (Sandy) Liske and Doris (Robert) Volk; grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) Liske, Jennifer Bilodeau, Amy (Scott) Makepeace, Terry Volk, and Cody Liske; great-grandchildren, Cooper Grisak, Kelsey Lafont, Emily Volk, Alyssa Makepeace, Jordan Volk, Sophia Makepeace, Brooklyn and Bowen Bilodeau and Devyn, Lauryn, Kaylee, and Maya Liske; great-great grandchildren, Maddox Volk and Sofiya Lafont; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Isabel was predeceased by her husband, Victor; parents, Joseph and Sofiah Cacko; brothers, José, Henrique, Bruno and Emilio; and sisters, Emilia, Appolonia, and Eugenia. Isabel lived a long, full life and was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared very deeply for her family and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She kept her family in Brazil in her thoughts and made sure to reach out to them and kept close relationships with them all, holding them close in heart. Everything Isabel did, she did with love and as such she will be fondly remembered and deeply missed for her “green thumb” and love of gardening; her love of nature, in particular, animals, sunrises and sunsets; her amazing ardour for cooking delicious meals and desserts that she served everyone with love; her enthusiastic dancing; as well as her contagious laughter. Isabel faithfully believed in Angels and found comfort in knowing that they were watching over her and her loved ones. The family are forever grateful to the nurses and support staff at Meadowlands and St. Joseph’s Home for the care and support provided to Isabel in her last years. For those wishing to honour Isabel’s life and family, the Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Monday, February 27th, 2023 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. A private family interment will follow at SAAMIS PRAIRIE VIEW CEMETERY. CHRISTEL RICHTER 1929 ~ 2023 Christel Elfriede Richter of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the age of 93 years, beloved wife of the late Paul Richter who predeceased her on December 31, 2022. SHARON LANT 1954 ~ 2023 Sharon Joan Lant passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the age of 68 years, beloved wife of Larry Lant of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory two children, Neil (Laurie) Thauberger and Nicole Forsberg (Barry); three grandchildren, Luke Forsberg, Stormy Forsberg and Tyler Thauberger; her parents, Ben and Madeline Herter; her brother, Terry (Audrey) Herter and her sister, Sandy (Victor) Liske, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan to Ben and Madeline Herter and was raised in the Golden Prairie area. Sharon the moved to Medicine Hat and purchased Style Crest Hair Salon on Dunmore Road in Medicine Hat and later purchased Crescent Heights Florist with her sister. Sharon met Larry in January of 1992 and they were married on May 15, 1993. Her hair career continued with Moods Hair Studio in the Carry Plaza until her health forced her to retire. She enjoyed golfing with Larry and spending time with her grandchildren. PAT COOKE 1933 – 2023
Patricia Alvina “Pat” Cooke of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the age of 89 years, beloved wife of the late Bruce Cooke. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Patti (Gord) Forbes, and their children, Casey (Carina), Kyle (Allana), Hilary (Jerrod) Blanchette; son, Darren (Brenda) Cooke and their children, Chris (Mel Yarmoloy) and Angie (Paulo DeSoto); daughter, Janice Richardson and her children, Ailish, Mackenzie and Abby; her great grandchildren, Tristan, Quinn and Kaden Forbes, Korbin and Alexa Forbes, Kate and Tessa Blanchette. Besides her husband, Pat was predeceased by her parents, her sister Verne (Don) Beaton; one brother Sam and her son-in-law Derik Richardson. Pat was born on August 10, 1933, at Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to Patrick and Bertha (Winstanley) Maddin. She was raised and educated in New Waterford, Nova Scotia. She graduated from business college at the age of 17 and went to work at Eaton’s. She then moved to Halifax and joined the secretarial pool for RCN Dock Yards. In 1955, Pat met Bruce Cooke at a dance and they were married on March 22, 1956. Together, they moved to Victoria, B.C. where Bruce was stationed at Esquimault Naval Base settling in Medicine Hat in 1958. Pat worked from age 17 until “retirement” at age 73. Her longest career was as a travel agent for P. Lawson Travel/Carlson Wagonlit. She continued to book tours even after she left the day to day “office job”. Pat and Bruce enjoyed annual golf holidays with a large group of fellow golf enthusiasts even though Pat was never a golfer. Due to the fact that Pat was never on time for anything in her life, the service will start approximately five minutes late. Cookie’s family would like to thank Meadow Ridge specifically Robinswood Cottage and the LPN staff for the tender loving care they provided. ROBERT NOBLE July 19, 1933 ~ February 19, 2023 Mr. Robert ‘Bob’ James Noble, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Noble, passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the age of 89 years. Bob’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family: three sons, Randy (Sandy) and their three children, Kayla, Jared (Mikayla) and Randall (Kayla); Durwin (Teresa); Brent (Cheryl) and their three children, Ashley (Dan), Dillion and Emilia (Shelby); two daughters, Penny (Warren) Hepfner; Diana (Richard) Bergen and their son, Trey. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; one sister, Beverly Jans; sister-in-law, Dorothy ‘Dot’ Simon as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Along with his loving wife Liz, Bob was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Wilma Noble; one sister, Doreen Noble; Liz’s parents, Louis and Emilia Simon; brother-in-law, Louis Simon; sister-in-law, Joan Mezie and brother-in-law, John Mezei. Bob enjoyed his job as a salesman working for Paulin’s which later evolved into Interbake Foods. His Jolly laugh let everyone know when he was in the room… it was infectious. Bob’s memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. Family wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff with Medicine Hat Homecare for their exceptional care Bob over the last number of years.
