DOUCETTE, DOLORES MADELINE

DOUCETTE, DOLORES MADELINE (nee Fiest) (Kookie) 1945 – 2023
Beloved wife of Gerald Roger Doucette passed away in Medicine Hat, on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the age of 77. Roger and numerous family members were at her side. Dolores was born in Dodsland, SK on November 22, 1945, to Joseph and Rose Fiest, of Coleville, SK and was the second oldest of seven children.
She was known affectionately as Kookie to friends and family. Auntie Kookie was loved by all her nieces and nephews, as much as she loved them. Next to Roger and her family, the love of her life was her favorite companion, Harley and we think she sometimes loved him more than her family.
Dolores and Roger were married September 16, 1996 and had 26 wonderful years together. Throughout their marriage they travelled to many different locations. The cabin they shared at Duncairn Dam was a great joy to both. After they sold the cabin, they wintered in Mesa for a few years.
Dolores had many jobs throughout her life working in Kindersley, Red Deer, Kamloops, Trail and lastly for the City of Medicine Hat. Dolores retired from the City of Medicine Hat, Fleet Services, on June 25, 2001, and was able to concentrate on the things she loved best – crafting, cooking, gardening and just taking life a little slower. She was an avid crafter and a great fisher woman and was very involved with the Medicine Hat Lapidary Club.
Dolores was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rose Fiest; step-father, George Bartlett; her mother and father-in-law, Elma and Ray Doucette; her brother-in-law, Brian Doucette; and her niece, Laura Leah MacDougall. She is survived by her husband, Roger; her brother, John (Toni) Fiest; her sisters, Linda (Ken) Bidyk, Donna (Ed) Brotzel, Bev (Rick) MacDougall, Debra (Wendell) Campeau, Karen (Darcy) Schmitke; her sister-in-law, Pat (Allen) Holt; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The memorial service for Dolores will be held Thursday, February 9 at 1 o’clock at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Medicine Hat with Father Francis Tran officiating. Dolores’ ashes will be spread, as per her request, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in her name, to the Medicine Hat SPCA – 403-526-7722.

It is with great sadness that Priscilla announces the peaceful passing of her beloved husband, Donald Michael William Jaworski in Medicine Hat, Alberta on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at the age of 54 years following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Don was born in Regina SK., one of three children to Raymond and Elaine Jaworski. He completed his schooling in Regina and went on to secondary education and achieved his certificate as a 4th Class Power Engineer. Don worked for many years in Estevan, SK., at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the heating plant until his disease would not allow it any longer. He then spent 25 years at Sasktel in Regina where he met his wife, Priscilla Marie Klus. They were married on June 22, 2002, and spent 20 wonderful years together travelling and camping. Don loved his family very much and all animals, especially dogs. He was very fond of his Service Dog Kongo. For 13 years they went everywhere together including two trips to Hawaii and one to Las Vegas. Don’s only other love was his daily fix of a Tim Hortons Iced Capp… he couldn’t go without one! Don had the gift of gab and made friends very easily wherever he went. He also had a wonderful sense of humour which served him well. Don was loved very much and will certainly be missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Jaworski and his sister, Lisa Jaworski-Reiter. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Priscilla and their dogs, Paige and Finley; step-children, James (Jennifer), Christopher, and step-grandchildren, Tynan, Nicole and Jillian; his mother, Elaine Jaworski; brother, Lance (Patty); sister-in-law, Shannon; nephews, Jesse (Salina), Eric, Connor and Nayib; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Christine Klus.
