ESTELLA ENGEL

1941 – ESTELLA ENGEL – 2022 Born March 25,1941, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Estella May (Ulmer) Engel was a daughter of God. She was devoted to both her church and family. She would do anything and everything needed to support them both, even if it meant going back to school in her later years.
Estella was the oldest of eight children of Oliver Ulmer and Eva (Baker) Ulmer. She attended school up until grade six, when she was needed to return home to help take care of her siblings. Nevertheless, her limited education did not prevent her from working at Dome Glass, becoming a Girl Guide leader, founder of the Parents Band Committee for CHHS Band, chaperone for the Medicine Hat Police Youth Band, board member of the Little League Baseball Team, volunteer for the Cancer Society, the Kidney Foundation and Big Brothers and Sisters, Manager of Hollingsworth Clothing Store, District Manager Packard Healthcare, Sunnyside Nursing Home Personal Care aid, Health Care Prosthesis Fitter, and her most loved position Office Manager for Dr. Hobson and Dr. Lumsden Medical Office.
Estella Engel passed away peacefully on October 22, 2022 in Medicine Hat. Her church and family were her rock upon which she leaned on. Estella is survived by her own children, Cori (Alan), Dale (Denise), Twila (Patrick); her sisters, Hazel, Francis, Sharon (Ivan); her brothers, Mack (Grace), Richard (Irene), Dennis (Randi); her grandchildren, Stefanie (Bradley), Devonee (Ryan), Tessa (Brad), Daniel (Clarissa), Blaze, Deneale (Talyn), Dustin, and Caden; her great-grandchildren, Destiny, William, Mia, Inez, Rose Marie; as well as her nieces and nephews, and friends too numerous to mention. She is now reunited with her brother, Leonard and her parents, Oliver and Eva Ulmer.
Estella will be remembered as loving, caring, generous, and kind. She was always up for a chat no matter who or where she was. She was the greatest cheerleader any family member could ever want, and she attended every event no matter the time or place.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the compassionate staff at River Ridge Seniors Village for the loving care and attention they provided Estella.
