DARLENE MARSHALL

DARLENE MARSHALL 1946 ~ 2022 Darlene Judith Marshall of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of Menrod ‘Roddy’ Marshall, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the age of 76 years. She will be missed so very much by her husband, Roddy and sons, Rory (Laural) and Shane (Fatoula) Marshall; grandchildren, Katelyn, Ryan, Madison, Nicholas, Anna and Olivia and great-granddaughter, Wesslyn Ward. She is also survived by her brother, Jack (Peggy) Stelter as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Darlene was born on January 21, 1946, a daughter to Johnnie and Annie Stelter, whom were long-time residents of Bindloss, Alberta. Darlene married Roddy Marshall on July 24, 1965, and they lived in Acadia Valley. She loved to play both the piano and organ and taught lessons to many local students. In 1997, they retired to Medicine Hat where she resided until the time of her passing. A Celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating. A luncheon will be held in the Cook Southland Reception Facility following the interment. EUGENE DALE SHERWIN


EUGENE DALE SHERWIN April 1, 1938 ~ October 16, 2022 It is with great sadness that the family of Eugene Dale Sherwin of Medicine Hat announce his passing at the age of 84 years. He passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 16, 2022, with family by his side. Dale was born to Melville and Lydia Sherwin on April 1, 1938, at Empress, Alberta. The family called Burstall home for 4 years before moving to Crane Valley, SK., where Dale attended school. He married Louise Schinbein on August 25, 1957, at Verwood, SK., and together they raised 4 children, Tim, Calvin, Marnel and Cory. Dale worked at various jobs throughout his life. He spent time as a farmer, a mechanic and a bus driver. In the 1960’s, Dale went to work for Imperial Oil. He took the bulk fuel business over in about 1964, working at that until his first retirement. Dale then went on to farm again before becoming the custodian at the Crane Valley School after acquiring his boiler papers. Later, Dale and Louise moved to Regina for several years where he worked as a courier and a shuttle driver for the Toyota dealership. Once again, Dale retired and they moved to Medicine Hat where they enjoyed the nice weather and made many new friends. Throughout his life, Dale enjoyed old cars, especially his Edsel which he spent time travelling to various Edsel events with. Dale also enjoyed curling, golfing, watching baseball, playing cards, crossword puzzles and reading. He was a member of the Oro Lake Regional Park Board, the Oro Lake Kinsmen Club and the United Church Board (Crane Valley). Dale was predeceased by his parents, Melville and Lydia; his beloved wife of 64 years, Louise; sister, Velma McKay; step-mother, Ethel May Sherwin and his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wong. Dale’s memory will be cherished in the hearts of his children, Tim (Betty), Calvin (Alison), Marnel (Keith) and Cory along with all of their children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Marilyn (Doug) Burke, Darlene (Vern) Hase, Hazel Mauer and Dallas King as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Dale’s life will be held at Victory Lutheran Church, 2793 Southview Drive S.E., Medicine Hat on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., with fellowship and refreshments thereafter in the church hall.
