INGE PICHE October 10, 1959 ~ September 30, 2022
Inge Louise Piche passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the age of 62 years. Inge’s memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of her daughters, Melanie (Cory) Bayer, Trudi Piche and Kimberly Piche (Austin Little); step-daughter, Trina Piche and her son, Raven; sister, Mary (Gilles) Scheger as well as numerous cousins and family in England and Alberta. Inge was born and raised in Taber. After graduating in 1977, she moved to Medicine Hat where she gained employment at various places. Inge excelled in an Office Technology course at the Medicine Hat College as she was very smart and had an amazing memory. She spent many years volunteering at her daughter’s schools, church and the senior’s centre. Inge worked at Superstore for the past 14 years where she gained many friendships. Playing tennis, bicycling, reading, skating, walks outside and drinking coffee were just a few of Inge’s hobbies. She was a great Mom who loved her daughters immensely as she devoted the second half of her life to raising them. ‘Inge will always be our sunshine’ as she was very appreciative and treasured the little things in life. She fought her battle with cancer with everything she had and her huge heart and positivity towards life will always be remembered. A Celebration of Inge’s Life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ken Roset officiating. RUBY MIDDLETON

December 11, 1931 ~ September 27, 2022 Ruby Olinda Middleton passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at the age of 90 years. Ruby was born on December 11, 1931, in Empress, Alberta, the only daughter of Fred and Emma Steinley. She spent her early years on the family farm north of Empress. Ruby met Frank “Pinky” Middleton and they moved to Medicine Hat where she remained, devoting herself to their family. She is survived by her sons, Ken (Joan) Steinley of High Prairie and Alan (Candace) Middleton of Bashaw; her grandchildren, Don, Matthew, Jason, Rusty and Brandt (Daniella) Borthwick, Justine Olson (Wes O’Hara), Alex Olson and Francesca, Brogan and Carver Middleton. Ruby is also survived by her brother, Dennis (Glenda) Steinley of Empress, sister-in-law, Shirley Steinley of Leduc and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Emma Steinley; spouses, Francis Middleton (1986) and Roy Wallis (2022); brother, Calvin Steinley and her niece, Lyn McKinnon. A Celebration of Ruby’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility.
