1940 ~ HELEN RETELBACK ~ 2022

Helen Retelback (nee Moore) of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Home on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at the age of 82 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brenda (Don) Weiss; grandchildren, Ronny (Kendra) Weiss, Randy Weiss, Raven (Cole) Weiss; brother, Rick (Darren) Moore; brother-in-law, Cliff Sackman; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Helen Moore; son, Glenn Retelback; sisters, Bea McCallum and Jess Sackman; and nephew, Warren Besplug. Helen was a woman of many passions. Her hobbies and interest included reading and gardening. She loved her garden and enjoyed time spent on her deck admiring her flowers. She loved everything and anything to do with Elvis Presley but her greatest love was her family and friends and she devoted as much time as she could to them. No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. 1946 ~ LORRAINE HANELT ~ 2022

Lorraine Theresa Hanelt of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the age of 76 years, beloved wife of the late Eric Hanelt. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Scott (Eleanor) Hanelt and Parrish (Stacey) Hanelt; seven grandchildren, Megan (Caleb) Bretherick, Madison Hanelt, Mackenzie Hanelt, Brooklyn Hanelt, Adam Nichols, Kennedy Nichols (Brett Voeller) and Ryder Torgerson; two great grandchildren, Nash Voeller and Lucas Bretherick; two sisters, Margie (Dave) Lanz and Sheila (Cliff) Newton-Spyker; her brother, Lawrence (Camille) Newton and her sister-in-law, Mary Normand as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Adelard and Jeanette Normand; her husband Eric on March 18, 2004; two brothers, Maurice and Roger and two sisters, Grace Fontaine and Angel Normand. BONNIE JOY BETCKER

March 29th, 1948 – August 30th, 2022

Bonnie Joy Betcker was born March 29, 1948, to Oscar and Violet Maier, and passed away August 30, 2022 at the age of 74. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Roy just last year in June. She is survived by her sons, Brad (Lisa) & Monty (Shelly); daughter, Cindy (Aaron) Elhart. Bonnie had 7 grandchildren she was so proud of, Tanner (Vicki) Betcker, Morgan Betcker (Casey Reamer), Rylee Bock (Quinton), Clay Betcker, and Cauy, Cheyenne and Haylee Elhart; 3 great grandchildren that she adored, Heidi and Claire Betcker and Hayes Bock. Bonnie also survived by one brother, Doug (Gay) Maier; sisters in law, Shirley Maier and Lily Betcker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bonnie enjoyed having her family over for get togethers and to spoil everyone. It always took hours to open gifts at Christmas because she loved to make sure everyone had the same amount of gifts to open and there was always plenty. She loved to knit and sew and made wonderful blankets for every grandchild and great grandchild and anyone else she knew who needed one. She will be missed by her family and friends.

RUDOLF 'RUDI' GEORGE OTTE

September 5, 1962 ~ July 10, 2022
Rudi was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta and passed away in Covington, Georgia, U.S.A. He leaves behind one son, Barak (Anna) and three daughters, Stevie, Tobie and Billie; his partner, Sandra; mother, Trudi and two brothers, Tom (Linda) and Bert and their families; three uncles, cousins and their families in Canada as well as cousins in Germany; his friends, Dave Stickel and Tamara Willet of Medicine Hat and Billie Gleason of U.S.A. He was predeceased by his father Günther Otte; grandparents, Alma Hammer and Barbara and Rudolf Geissler and his cousin Gary Geissler. A private graveside service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery on Friday, September 2, 2022 with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating.
