1928 ~ EDGAR HOFER ~ 2022

On July 17, 2022, Edgar Hofer was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven at the age of 94 years, beloved husband of the late Olga Hofer. He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Earl (Jan) Hofer and Ardeth (Mel) Wittke. Friends and family who wish to pay their respects may do so at the church one hour prior to service time. The funeral service will be held in the Hillcrest Evangelical Missionary Church on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Pahl officiating. RICHARD “RICK” PAULSON

November 9th, 1946 – July 14th, 2022
Rick Paulson of Medicine Hat, AB passed away on July 14, 2022, in Calgary, AB at the age of 75 years. He will be forever cherished by his wife, Sheryl; daughters, Sandy (Mike) Pittet, Debbie (Doug) Hall, Wendy Barber, Tammy Paulson and Jennifer (Kevin) Widmer; stepsons, Shawn Little and Craig (Coralee) Little; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Paulson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Ida Paulson; stepson, Shane Little; and brother Gene Paulson.
Rick was born and raised in Calgary, AB and was the eldest of 3 boys. He worked in the oil field all his life and owned his own business since the late 80’s. Although Rick loved to golf, it was a love/hate relationship. He enjoyed watching sports and vacationing. He travelled to Brownsville, TX for 20 years. Rick adored his dogs and even bought an RV for them.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 2:00PM at Hillcrest Church – 3785 13th Ave SE, Medicine Hat, AB.

STANLEY HENERY HOLICK

1941 ~ 2022

It is with a heavy heart that Alice Holick, beloved wife of 58 years to Stan, announces his passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.  He passed away peacefully while in the loving presence of his family on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 81 years. Along with Alice, Stan leaves to cherish his memory:  daughter, Debbie Holick (Marcel);  son, Terry (Heather) Holick;  son-in-law, Chester Wisnowski; grandchildren, Brooklyn Wilk, Arianna Wilk, Jessica Wisnowski and Ethan Holick.  Stan is also survived by his brother, Frankie Hollick (Donna); sisters, Liz Campbell, Frances Buziak and Emily Lemecha; brother-in-law, Bill (Marg) Montgomery as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie Wisnowski;  parents, Clara and Frank Holick as well as numerous siblings and other extended family.  Stan was born in North Battleford, SK., on June 28, 1941.  He served with the Canadian Armed Forces for 20 years, during which time he was presented with the Peace Keeping Medal for his military service.  Stan became an accomplished chef during his time in the military and carried that love for cooking through into his retirement years.  He was an avid outdoorsman who revelled in each opportunity to go camping, fishing or hunting.  When Stan wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, he could often be found cheering on his Roughriders, Toronto Maple Leafs or New York Yankees.  He was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge in Medicine Hat, having made many longlasting friendships there throughout the years.  A celebration of Stan’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with a time of fellowship and refreshments immediately thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. 1921 ~ ETHEL “MAY” SHERWIN ~ 2022

We sadly announce the passing of our mother May Sherwin beloved wife of the late Melville Sherwin, March 27, 2022, at the age of 101 years. She was born on the family farm in Wood Mountain, Saskatchewan on March 12, 1921.
She leaves to cherish her memory son Dale Sherwin, daughters, Marilyn (Doug) Burke, Darlene (Vern) Hase, Hazel Maurer, and Dallas King, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, brother Richard (Doreen) Oakes, sisters, Grace Justus and Betty Panzer. She was predeceased by her husband Mel in 1994, daughter Velma McKay, daughter-in-law Louise Sherwin, son-in-law Rod King, granddaughter Daun Burke, parents Gladys and Gurley Oakes, brother Garrould Oakes and sister Dorothy Bloom. Mom enlisted in the Canadian Woman’s Army Core in 1942, serving four years including two in England and Holland during WWII, working first as a mechanic’s helper and then in a clerical position. She loved to share stories of her time in the army and made many lifelong friends during those years. She always looked forward to her Ex-Servicewomen’s reunions. On November 8, 1946, she married Melville Sherwin, a widower with three small children. Later they added three more daughters to the family. The family lived in Crane Valley, Saskatchewan where Mel taught school, moving to Wolseley, Saskatchewan in 1964 and finally to Medicine Hat in 1967. Over the years, Mom was active in many groups, including The Legion, Eastern Star, UCW, Explorer Leader, Sunday school teacher, MS Society, and Ex-Servicewomen among others. Mom enjoyed music, square-dancing, playing cards, curling, watching baseball, and playing bingo. She loved to travel and took many trips including those to Israel, Greece, Italy, England, France, an Alaskan Cruise, Canada’s east coast, many US states and to Holland in 2000 for the 55th Anniversary of VE Day. A special thank you to the caregivers at Good Samaritans. ain The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Dallas Hjorth. Officers and members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Robertson Memorial Branch #17 will conduct a poppy service for their departed comrade. The service will be live streamed, and family and friends who are unable to attend are invited to watch the service by searching for the Pattison Funeral Home Youtube page. The video will go live 10 minutes prior to service time and will remain on the Youtube page for future viewing. Interment will take place in Coronach, Saskatchewan at a later date.
