1930 ~ EILEEN KAKUK ~ 2022

Eileen Phylis Kakuk of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the age of 92 years, beloved wife of the late George Kakuk. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Steven (Eileen) Kakuk; three grandchildren, Sheri (Darren) Emerson, Shawna (Jason) Laswell, and Shane (Stephanie) Kakuk; six great grandchildren, Keyshawn Emerson (Kaitlin Carlson), Dakota Laswell, Amaya Laswell, Slade Laswell, Kaiden Kakuk, and Brooklynn Kakuk; as well as one brother, Roger (Louella) Morse. She was predeceased by her husband, George Kakuk in 2002; one daughter, Diane Kakuk at the age of four years; her parents, Beatrice and William Morse; as well as one brother, Lloyd (Mona) Morse. Eileen lived a really good life which made up for the hardships she faced early on. She made a lot of friends in Medicine Hat and she had a very dry sense of humour that always kept everybody laughing. Eileen felt extremely grateful to know her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Her family was very happy to discover just how many photos, journals, and records she kept of everything over the years. Eileen will be silently remembered by her friends and family. ELSIE JEAN SILLAK

On July 5, 2022, Elsie Jean (Schnell) Sillak of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away at the age of 81. Elsie is survived by her children Greg (Geri) Sillak and Michele (Paul) Donohue; and grandchildren Candace (Ryan) Carroll, Andrew Sillak, Allen Donohue, Micayla Donohue, Brittany (Cam) Wright, Savanna Jendrasheske, Justin Jendrasheske; one great-grandson, Emmett Wright; and siblings Don, Gerrie, Allan, Terry, Randy, Sandra, Tim and Rob. She was predeceased by her husband Ken Sillak, daughter Nicole Jendrasheske, parents Jacob and Johanna Schnell and brothers Wayne and Darrell. Elsie was married to Ken for 60 years. She loved socializing, music, camping, collecting antique glassware, crafts and shuffleboard. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Airdrie Town & Country (275 Jensen Dr. NE, Airdrie, AB) on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 am.
