Shirley Anne Downey (nee Cole) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 7, 2022, beloved wife of the late Paul Downey. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Roque Pereira officiating. The chapel service will be live streamed, and family and friends who are unable to attend are invited to watch the service by searching for the Pattison Funeral Home Youtube page. ELISE MARIA KROOSHOOP

March 23, 1983 ~ March 4, 2022

It is with a brave face and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Elise Krooshoop in Medicine Hat, Alberta on Friday, March 4, 2022, age 38 years. Elise was born on March 23, 1983, in Bow Island, Alberta, the third child and only daughter to proud parents, Ria Welbourne and John Krooshoop. Elise moved to Medicine Hat at the age of 5 where she remained until the age of 15. She ultimately returned to Medicine Hat to raise her two boys, Atlas and Tytan Herter.
As a single mother, Elise became a registered nurse and was proud to be recognized as a health care professional. Elise was simply good at what she did. She had a passion for spiritual healing, was a great listener and carried powerful energy. When Elise loved, she loved with all her heart and she simply had a contagious energy about her that everyone naturally gravitated towards.
Elise enjoyed golf, fishing, baseball, camping, gardening, cooking, dancing, and all things that involved friends and family.
Elise will be remembered as a wonderful mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, and caregiver. Elise, we will be seeing you, in all the old familiar places, that you made better with your smile and grace.
She is survived by her two boys, Atlas and Tytan Herter; her special pet dogs, Luna and Angel; parents, Ria Welbourne and John (Daria) Krooshoop; four siblings, Taria (Curtis) Gouw, Scott Krooshoop, Clinton Massong and Michael (Corinna) Krooshoop along with a large list of extended family in Canada and the Netherlands.
Vigil Prayers will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Father Iqbal Khurshid celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. SANDRA LYNN MEHRER

1948 – 2022

Sandra Mehrer passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2022, at the age of 73 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Dave Mehrer; son, Ed (Elsbeth) Mehrer; daughter, Jen (Andy) Shaw; grandchildren, Rio, Aidan, Greta and Erik; sister, Wendy (Wayne); brother-in-law, Peter Mehrer; nieces and nephews, Bonnie (Tim), Mike, Heather (Dan) and Sean (Diane). Sandra is predeceased by her parents, Mel and Marg Dixon; and sister-in-law, Elaine (Louie).
Sandra was born, raised and spent most of her life in Medicine Hat. She was a graduate of Medicine Hat High School. She was an active member of the community, volunteering with minor hockey and Medicine Hat Police Service Victim Assistance program. She also enjoyed travelling, gardening, arts and crafts and spending time with her family and friends.
