1924 ~ FLORENCE POLS ~ 2022

Florence Pols, of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, February 20th, 2022, at the age of 98 years. Florence leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Verna Perry, Evelyn Kundert; nieces and nephews, Bob (Judy) Perry, Loretta (Don) Stock, Don (Gladys) Perry, Ron (Tracy) Perry, Judy (Gary) Duncan, Joyce (Maurice) Routley, Jeff (Kirsti) Kundert; and 11 great nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Jean; sister, Agnes Craig; brothers-in-law, William Perry, Edward Kundert, and Tom Craig. Florence worked at the Medicine Hat greenhouses for 20 years. She was also a designer at Rosery Florist for 35 years. Florence enjoyed walking, knitting, and crocheting. Florence’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s Home as well as at River Ridge. Donald Vernon Gill of Medicine Hat passed away on Wednesday, February 16th, 2022 at the age of 93 years. Esther Reinheller of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the age of 91 years, beloved wife of the late Benny ‘Ben’ Reinheller. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Borrows officiating. The service will be live streamed, and family and friends who are unable to attend are invited to watch the service by searching for the Pattison Funeral Home Youtube page. 1932 ~ RUDOLPH FIKOWSKI ~ 2022

Rudolph “Ruddy” Fikowski passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the age of 89 years, beloved husband of Edna Fikowski of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory three children, Steven (Michaelle) Fikowski, Susan (Stanley) Getz, and Russell (Lenore) Fikowski; five grandchildren, Lindsay (Marty), Christopher (Jackalyn) and their children, Annabelle, Brennan, and Dannick; Nicole (Troy) and their son, Hayes; Heather (Seth); and Brent (Claire); four sisters, Mary, Ann (Edwin), Elizabeth, and Edna; and one sister-in-law, Adeline. He was predeceased by one son, David in 1981; his parents, Maria and Michael Fikowski; six brothers, Frank, Michael, Wenzel, Joseph, Edward, and Michael; and four sisters, Sophia, Frances, Veronica, and Zitta. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Rodel Abanto Celebrant. Masks are mandatory. 1942 ~ GLEN MITCHELL ~ 2022

Glen Albert Mitchell of Medicine Hat, beloved friend and partner of Wendy Lundy, passed away on Sunday, February 20th, 2022 at the age of 79 years. Glen also leaves to cherish his memory his children, Melanie (Garth) Mitchell-Epp and Michelle (Rob) Sorenson; grandchildren, Garrick (Karissa) Paterson and Taylor Sorenson; great-grandchildren, Rhys Paterson and Adelaide Paterson; brother, Donnie; sisters, Shirley and Margret; Wendy’s children, Tyler (Candice) Martens, Tara (Billy) Carter, Jace (Sheila) Lundy, and Riley (Shianne) Lundy; Wendy’s grandchildren, Emersyn, Stryker, Dane, Keeley, Kaylor, Shayda, Cashtyn, Chevelle, Autum, McKenna, Bayden, Jazlyn and Blakely; special granddaughter, Serenity Heinz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Glen was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Hazel Mitchell. Glen was born and raised on the family farm south of Orkney, SK. In 1983, he relocated to Maple Creek with his young family and operated his own cement company as well as the local bowling alley. In 1996, he moved to Medicine Hat and went to work maintaining and restoring John Deere tractors…an endeavor that he truly loved and was proud of. He loved to share his mechanical knowledge with others whenever the opportunity came around and he enjoyed reciting poetry and singing as well. In 2005, Glen met Wendy and they started a new chapter together, living in Irvine, and bringing together their two families. He was a generous man and would give the shirt off his back if he knew someone was in need and was a man of his word. Glen began his long battle with cancer in 2005, when he was given a six-month diagnosis. In demonstration of his strong will and perseverance, Glen was able to outwit and outlast that diagnosis by 17 years! The family have chosen to honour Glen in their thoughts and prayers without a formal service. Carol Lynn Weishaar, of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, February 21st, 2022, at the age of 71 years. Carol leaves to cherish her memory her children, Toby (Anne Marie) Weishaar and Angie (Kevin) Stasiuk; brother, Steve (Joan) Sadownik; sisters, Mary Lou (Jerry) Loran and Saundra Crayston. GORDON HARTH

November 22, 1944 ~ February 18, 2022

Petty Officer 1st Class, Gordon Arnold Harth (Ret’d), passed away in Medicine Hat on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the age of 77 years. Gord, a son of Louis and Emily (nee Arnold) Harth, was raised in the Mankota, SK. area until he was five. He started school in 1950, after the family moved to Aneroid, SK. This is where Gordon met his lifelong friend, Garry Resvick. He joined the Canadian Navy at the age of 18; being a Serviceman was his passion. Gordon’s service career initially ran from 1963 to 1966, before he re-enlisted in 1970, serving through to 1991 and obtaining the rank of PO 1st Class. He joined the CAF Supplementary Reserve as Master Chief and spent another four years at Vernon Army Camp. Gord married Private Frankie Bernice Harth (nee Silver) in Victoria, B.C. on October 16, 1970. They spent 23 years together in the military and were married for 51 years, having had no children. Gord was highly passionate about several things: Blue Jays baseball, the 10 dogs they had during their marriage and woodworking. He made countless items from bread boxes to bird feeders or birdhouses, most of which he gave away. He was also passionate about all their friends (oldtimers or new) and he was very proud of his service to our country and his wife, Petty Officer 2nd Class, Frankie Harth (Ret’d). Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., MST. The celebration of Gord’s life will follow at 10:00 a.m. with a time of fellowship thereafter at the Redcliff Legion. Interment will take place at the Aneroid, Saskatchewan Cemetery on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. CST.
