1941 – GAIL SCHMIDT – 2021

“Family ties are precious threads

No matter where we roam

They draw us close to those we love

And pull our hearts toward home.”

On the afternoon of December 14th, 2021, we lost the heart of our family, Gail Schmidt of Redcliff, AB. She was predeceased by her husband, Ken, of 60 years. She is survived by her most prized possessions, her family, Sandy (Cody and Christy, Shayna, William, and Wyatt); (Kyler and Ashley, Knoxx and Jury) Moser, Penny (Trina) Schultz, Kendra and Mitch (Kelsi and Adam, Colton) Seifert, Jolaine (Jordon and Jared) Hepfner; brother, Joe (Laurie) McFadzen; brother-in-law, Dennis (Ruth) Schmidt; sister-in-law, Pat Schmidt; numerous nieces and nephews; and her favourite four-legged companion, Brewster. While Gail was a stay at home Mom she was also the Recreation Director for the Town of Redcliff, where she planned and organized many events and trips for the town’s seniors. Once her youngest was 10, Gail took a job at the Woolworths jewelry counter which she absolutely loved. She always loved interacting with people! While working at Woolworths, she and Ken became the owner/operators of Tilden Rent a Car, which she ran for several years. Gail then went on to work at the Halfway House at the Redcliff Riverview Golf Course where she loved to visit with all the regulars and always had lunch ready for her grandsons who were working there (and they all worked there and loved having Grandma make sure they ate!!) Gail had a great love of music and taught piano lessons for many years. She was an amazing pianist and was asked to play for several town events and functions. When her mother could no longer play the organ for St Ambrose Church, she agreed to help them out while they found a new organist and stayed playing there for 30 years! During this time she was an active member of the Redcliff Roving Choir. Although Gail enjoyed coaching girls baseball for several years, she most loved watching her grandchildren participate in their many activities. Whether it was a dance recital or a rough hockey game she was their biggest fan. Family truly was the most important thing to Gail. She loved them all so very much. A Private Family Service of Remembrance will be held at a later date to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Redcliff Scholarships for Advanced Education c/o Prairie Rose Public Schools, Attention Ryan Boser, Secretary Treasurer, 918 2nd Avenue, Dunmore AB, T1B 0K3. Condolences may be sent through http://www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Gail Schmidt. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to

1967 – TREVOR WIEBE – 2021

With the blinds open and a glimmer of light shining through, Trevor Wiebe 54, peacefully but suddenly passed away at the Peter Loughead Center in Calgary, on December 15, 2021, from medical complications arising from his Pulmonary Fibrosis diagnosis in September 2019. He battled the disease with the most amazing grace, bravery and strength. He lived everyday with positivity and determination not to let the disease keep him from doing the things he loved. Everyone who knew Trevor knew he was an extremely kind, loving, gentle and peaceful person, and that he never lost his childlike spirit and love for life.

Trevor married the love of his life Sharna in February 1987. They met at the mall walking down the hallway staring at each other. Sharna made a sign for Trevor to call her, and well the rest is beautiful history. Trevor was a loving and dedicated father to his three children, Tyler, Brock and Shaylena, and a very proud, doting papa to his grandchildren, Carson and Noah, who he truly adored. They were the center beam of his life and he gave everything a father/papa could give. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he proudly mentioned often. Trevor put family first, always, and was a dedicated father, papa and husband.

Trevor (also known on the job as “wheels”) was extremely passionate about his work. He was employed with Alberta Aggregates Ltd. where he remained a devoted employee for more than 30+ years, until he could no longer work due to his condition. Throughout his career, he formed many successful, lasting relationships and left an impact on everyone he worked with. Loved ones that cleared the path for Trevor are his sons, Brock (2020) and Tyler (2021), his father Johnny, his brother Kevin, his mother-in-law Karen Denis and his brother-in-law Ken Denis.

Loved ones that will miss Trevor until they meet again are his beautiful mother Jeanine, his brother Travis-Terra and family, his brother Kevin’s children, Kristine-Nathan and family, and Keane. His father-in-law Armand Denis, his brother-in-law Joe Denis and family, and his brother-in-law Allan-Lori Denis and family, as well as so many others.

In the words of his daughter Shaylena, “Dad has transitioned into our newest guardian Angel”.

There will be a Celebration of Life in Spring/Summer 2022.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the family to help cover costs would be greatly appreciated. E-transfer is available to InMemoryofTrevorWiebe @gmail.com (Case sensitive).
