JOHN MacDOUGALL

1974 – 2021

I had one job to do, “Don’t Die”. Well clearly, I messed that up. Unfortunately, I announce that after 3 years of battling cancer, I, John MacDougall, at the age of 46, passed away peacefully in my sleep at home on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021, probably dreaming about swap meets, car shows, and junk, and the occasional unicorn. I leave behind by beautiful wife, Kelly, who was my rock, my biggest supporter, and my true soul mate throughout our 25 years of marriage and almost 27 years together; our son, Dylan Xerxes John, who is kind, strong, brave, loyal and full of life and sarcasm; my dad, Leonard MacDougall, don’t worry dad, I am looking forward to seeing mom; my in-laws, Christine & John Ambrosi, who never left my side during my journey; I also leave behind numerous siblings, nieces, nephews and an endless amount of amazing friends and family who mean the world to me and have also been by my side during this ride. Sorry I left you all behind. You will now have to call each other to help with your projects or drinking at the strip joint. I was truly blessed to have every single one of you in my life, you all made a difference. The last few months have been jammed packed and filled with adventures and memories, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I also want to thank the Day Medical team at MHRH, Home Care, Dr. Bouchard-Fortier and, Dr. Ruzycki & Karen for everything you all have done for me in the last few years. A celebration of my life will be held with close family and friends at a later date. Now I get the privilege of joining some amazing family members and a friend that have predeceased us all. To my mom, Elaine Grace, I can’t wait to see you. I will be watching you all from above, from the best seat in the house and remember,
“Surround yourself with great people, treat them well, show them love & respect, and only worry about things that are in your control”.
