1932 ~ ARLENE BLACKMER ~ 2021

Arlene Leila Blackmer of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, September 3rd, 2021 at the age of 89 years. Arlene leaves to cherish her memory her son, Randy Blackmer; daughters, Janice Blackmer, Karen (Ken) Blackmer-Thompson, and Sandra (Chuck) Regier; sisters, Marge Pavelich, Donna (Greg) Campbell and Beverly Giroux; grandchildren, Marnie Beggs-Murray, Melanie (Shaun) Beggs- Murray, Aaron (Gina) Blackmer, Jamie Blackmer (Kenzie Lapointe), Danielle (Casey) Bertram, Matthew (Amber) Blackmer, Milan (Waylon) Belisle, Braydon (Jessica) Regier, and Alynn Regier (Kris Sotiros); great-grandchildren, Sohee, Nicolas, Kase, Havalyn, Scarlett, Hadley, Peyton and Genevieve; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Blanche Giroux; her husband of 60 years, James Blackmer; sisters, Carole (Max) White and Doreen (Bob) Tracey; brothers-in-law, John Pavelich and Norman Scherer; and daughter-in-law, Shauna Blackmer. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sunnyside Nursing Home for the care and attention Arlene received while in their care. Ivadelle Mae Pratt passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at the age of 72 years, beloved wife of George Pratt of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory four children Shane (Roxy) Pratt of Estevan, Tracey (Bob) Krupa of Medicine Hat, Sharlene (Robert) Van der Helm of Bow Island and Ryan (Steffi) Pratt of Medicine Hat; eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter, Derian Pratt, Dylan Pratt (Trinity), Courtney (Kyle) Gruszi (their daughter, Emberly Mae); Shayna Krupa (Justin Vann), Lee Van der Helm, Quinten Van der Helm, Nicholas Pratt and Conor Pratt and one nephew Geoff Wilson. HAROLD MAY

July 7, 1951 ~ September 3, 2021

It is with a heavy heart that Connie announces that her beloved husband, Harold George May, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the age of 70 years. Along with Connie, Harold will be lovingly remembered by their children, Wendy (Pat) Furlong, Scott (Line) May and Corey (Brandi) May; grandchildren, Rachel and Emma Furlong; McKenzie Trent and Reece, Emily and Jayla May; siblings, Garry May, Gail (Lorn) Cook, Gayle May, Marilyn (Ray) Cradduck and Colleen (Monty) Kunz; brothers-in-law, Ross (Shanon) Anderson and Terry Anderson as well as his sister-in-law, Andrea Anderson (Randy Rota). Harold was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Norma May; brother, Garth; brother-in-law, Robert; sister-in-law, Leona May as well as parents-in-law, Melvin and Rachel Anderson. Harold was born, raised and educated in Taber, AB. In his younger years, he could be found on the ice as he also played hockey in Taber. Harold married Connie Anderson on August 25, 1973, in Barnwell and they made Lethbridge their home for many years. Harold started his career at Ireco Irrigation in 1971 and then worked for Oliver Irrigation before buying the store in Medicine Hat in 1993. After he bought the store, he changed it to C&H Irrigation. Harold recently retired celebrating 50 years working in irrigation! He was a hard worker who liked to play tricks and make up stories for his grandkids. Playing cards with his friends and grandkids while adjusting the rules was one of Harold’s favourite pastimes! He also enjoyed golf, hunting, traveling, camping and special trips with the boys to golf and to watch Corey’s football games. You could always find Harold watching golf and WWE wrestling on TV after a hard days work. He was a strong supporter of 4-H clubs and stood behind all that they believed in. Harold’s most memorable occasions were a family trip to Turks & Caicos and celebrating his and Connie’s 48th wedding anniversary. He will be deeply missed! A Celebration of Harold’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 -13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Bruce Hill officiating. A private interment will follow at the Barnwell Cemetery. JAMES "JIM" CAMPBELL

1936 – 2021

Jim passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital quietly on Sunday, September 5th, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife and best friend of 56 years of marriage, Kay; son, Shawn; two brothers, John (Donna) Campbell and Bill (Dianne) Campbell; four sisters, Patricia (Harold) Fieldberg, Cathy Sutherland, Peggy Herman (Bob Robertson) and Judy McKenzie (Randy Kirkland); numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Todd; parents, Donald and Mary; sister, Mary Jane Hern and brother-in-law, Gordon Lapp.
Jim was born in Calgary, AB and raised on a ranch in Buffalo, AB. He received his education at Cavendish School. Jim enjoyed rodeos and was a farrier for many years.

LONG, AUDREY JOYCE

1925 – 2021

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Audrey Joyce Long (née Terry) of Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 96 years.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Brian and Richard; nieces and nephews; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Larry Long; daughter, Linda; brothers, Bob and Wilbur; and many friends and relatives.

Joyce was a wonderful host and convivial soul who loved to talk and visit. Her company always brought smiles and laughter into the lives of her loved ones. She worked at Eaton’s department store and before that laboured at a munitions factory in Medicine Hat during the Second World War. After marrying Larry she devoted herself to her family and community.

Her family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Capital Care McConnell Place West in Edmonton. Your care and support for Joyce will always be remembered.
