1932 – JEAN DeHART – 2021

Jean Audrey DeHart of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the age of 89 years, beloved wife of the late Alvin DeHart. She leaves to cherish her memory seven loving children, Don (Jan) DeHart of Okanagan Falls, B.C., Anne Knoll of Medicine Hat, Lloyd (Sue) DeHart of Penticton, B.C., Carol (Lawrence) Hapke of Oliver, B.C., Dan DeHart of Edmonton, Rena McDowell of Okanagan Falls, B.C., Helen (Peter) Thiessen of Medicine Hat and their families (so many wonderful nieces and nephews, precious grandchildren, great grandchildren and yes, great-great grandchildren). One sister Norma (Ron) Kitchen of Orillia, Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Walter Ellett; her husband Alvin; one son Ed DeHart and two sons-in-law Ken Knoll, Grant McDowell and one brother Allen Ellett.

Mom wrote us the following note… "To all of my children, I have enjoyed all of my fun times with you and feel so blessed to have had such a loving and close family. Please stay close that way with your family and the many families to come". Family was the most important part of her life and she was truly our favorite person in the whole world. Mom we love you and miss you and we promise to carry on your legacy of unconditional love.

A very special thank you to Cypress View Foundation for the love and care our mom received over the many years she called home! Also, our heartfelt thanks to the compassionate, caring staff at St. Joseph's Home.

1944 ~ ELDON BLANCHARD ~ 2021

The family of Eldon George Blanchard is saddened to announce his sudden passing at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, Calgary on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the age of 76 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sharon, his children Cheryl Smithson (Garry) of Medicine Hat and his son Murray (Tasha) of Strathmore; his grandchildren, Nathan Smithson (Kerstin), Matthew Smithson (Lauren), Zachary Smithson, and Celsey Smithson (Jorel); his treasured great grandson Rhyden Smithson all of Medicine Hat; his sister Gwen Heisler of Medicine Hat and his brother Dennis (Lorraine) Blanchard of Calgary. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Jean Blanchard, his brother-in-law Gordon Heisler, and his in-laws Victor and Josephine Opp, his brother-in-law Brian Opp and his sister-in-law Bonnie Adams.

Eldon was born in Medicine Hat on September 16, 1944, and was actively involved in hockey, baseball, and football. He worked with CP Rail as an Engine Attendant for many years and retired August 1, 1989. From this career he jumped into running a painting business. The move to Strathmore gave him the opportunity to be a school custodian which he loved. Due to ill health he became a domestic engineer.

He was a faithful member of Bill W (AA) for 45 years and loved helping those in need and especially those new in the program. He faithfully read his little Black Book every morning.

A celebration of his life will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, Pat Grisonich. It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of their mother, Audrey Margaret Nelson, beloved wife of the late Sam Nelson. She passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at the age of 88 years. Audrey is survived by her children, Charlene (Richard) Oster, Neil Nelson, Perry (Sheilagh) Nelson and daughter-in-law, Nita Nelson; five grand-children as well as eight great-grandchildren. March 30, 1951 ~ July 28, 2021

Dayle Anne Digby, beloved wife of David, passed away peacefully at her home in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the age of 70 years. Along with David, Dayle will be lovingly remembered by her children, Carlo, Anthony, Nicholas, Brian, Steve (Nicole) and Tracey (Matt); eight grandchildren; one great-grandson as well as her brother, Bill LeTouzel. LINDA HOPE

1946 – 2021

The family of Linda (Sherwood) Hope, of Medicine Hat, is saddened to announce her sudden passing on July 26, 2021 at the age of 74 years, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Left to cherish her memory is mother, Phyllis Schneider; daughter, Nichole (Mark) Neubauer; son, Brett Hope; daughter, Bobbi (Rodney) Read and grandchildren, Logan and Evie Neubauer and Tyson and Beau Read.
Linda was predeceased by her father, John Richard Sherwood; her brothers, Glen Sherwood, Gord Sherwood and Jim Sherwood as well as her loving soulmate, Edgar (Sandy) Welling.
Linda was a talented artist and an enthusiastic gardener who enjoyed creating beautiful visual masterpieces. She loved spending time with family at her cabin in Elkwater. Linda was never one to sit idle and always had a renovation project on the go. Even when times were tough, of which she had more than her share, she remained positive and always dedicated to her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Medicine Hat Health Foundation.
