Molly Roy of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, June 16th, 2021 at the age of 82 years. Molly is survived by her children, Ken (Amalie Nelson) Roy, Doug (Leah Belik) Roy, Lisa Wyatt, Sam (Kim) Roy, and Devon Roy; grandchildren, Brandi (Carlos) Lozano, Melissa Atwell, Juanita (Kory Carvery) Atwell, Cody (Sarah) Atwell, Timothy Wyatt, Derek (Olivia Weterhoud) Wyatt, Amanda (Devon) Little, Cassie Roy, and Lexi Roy; many great – grandchildren that she treasured and held near and dear to her heart; brothers, Joe (Adeline) Risling, Lambert (Rose †) Risling, Jack (Joyce †) Risling, Roy (Diane) Risling, and Dwayne Risling; and sister, Kathrine Coats. 1950 ~ GARY HUBER ~ 2021

Gary Archie Huber of Burstall, Saskatchewan passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the age of 70 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Edith Etsell; two brothers, Terry (Sheila) Antosko and Randy (Adele) Etsell; two sisters, Shirley (Wayne) Tarnasky and Beverley (Alan) Isberg as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Albert Huber. Gary was a kind hearted man who enjoyed fishing, country and western music, John Wayne movies and flowers. He was very sociable, always willing to give a helping hand for which he received the Good Neighbour Award. Special thanks to Dr. Venter and all the staff at Healthworx Clinic. A private graveside service will be held in the Sandy Point Cemetery at a later date. MILLICENT REDFORD

Millicent Alfreda Salway Redford died June 11, 2021 in Eugene, at the age of 92. She is to be buried beside her husband Glynn Owen Redford in the Leavitt, Alberta, Canada cemetery.

Millie was born August 15, 1928 to Martha Helm and John Barlow Salway in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and spent her childhood in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Married Glynn Owen Redford in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Idaho Falls Temple in 1950.

Her husband of 68 years, Glynn Redford, passed away 2019 in Eugene, Oregon. Millie is survived by five children: Rodney (JoDean) of Moses Lake, Washington, Derek (Betty) of Boise, Idaho, Randal (Fawn) of Eugene, Oregon, Robbe (Julie) Sandpoint, Idaho, Lori Rainsdon (Gary) of Twin Falls, Idaho. Two brothers: Alfred Salway of Missoula and Jack Salway of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. A brother–in-law John Redford (Debbie) of Moses Lake, Washington, twenty-six grandchildren and sixty-four great grandchildren.

Millie graduated as a Registered nurse in 1950 and moved to Cardston to work in the Cardston Hospital where she met her husband Glynn Redford. She worked as a nurse in Alberta, Montana, Utah, and in Oregon. In 1967 at the State Hospital in Salem, Oregon, she was certified as a psychiatric nurse, where she supervised the 160 bed medical unit for ten years.

In 1976 Glynn and Millie purchased Pleasant Valley, a 60-bed nursing home in Eugene, Oregon which they managed until 1987 when they built a 120-bed facility near Valley River Mall and named it Riverpark. Together they operated Riverpark until 1995, then sold the business and went on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. She became a U.S. citizen in 2000. Millie liked to travel and had traveled the United States with Glynn in their motor home. Millie also visited Hawaii 3 times, England, France and Italy.

Following their mission, Millie and Glynn served in the Portland Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 10 years. Millie spent the remaining days looking after her husband, quilting, writing the Ward History, and wrote a book for the family: “Finding Our Way”. She actively researched family history all her life.

On Thursday, February 25, 2021, Norine Lucille Moore passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat at the age of 64 years while surrounded by her loving family. Due to current health restrictions, the Funeral Celebration will be by invitation only. PETER RICHARD MOSSEY

 

March 9, 1928 ~ June 14, 2021

 

Mr. Peter Richard Mossey passed away peacefully at the Riverview Care Centre in Medicine Hat on Monday, June 14, 2021, at the age of 93 years. He leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Dan (Iryna) of Calgary, Wendy (Bob) of West Kelowna, Patty (Rick) of Medicine Hat and Dave (Nancy) of Kelowna. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Along with his mother and father, Peter was predeceased by his eldest son, Michael in 1958. Born in Victoria, Peter was raised and received his education in Vancouver. This is also where he developed his love of boating, fishing and especially swimming in the ocean. He married Dorothy Ayling on March 22, 1951. In 1955, Peter started with the Powell River News before moving on to the Medicine Hat News in 1963. He retired as the Editor in 1993, moving to Surrey, B.C. to enjoy his retirement. While in Medicine Hat, Peter was always an active member of the community. He was involved with many sports groups including the Senior Hockey League, Medicine Hat Oldtimers Hockey and the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club. Peter participated in numerous fundraisers over the years, but he was most proud of his achievement in being the founder of the Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund. Peter enjoyed time spent gardening, golfing, bowling and playing cards but especially enjoyed travelling. He experienced much of the world including Cuba, New Zealand, Portugal, Denmark, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Thailand along with annual trips to Vegas and Havasu. His memory will live on within the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. At Pete’s request, no formal service will be held. Rick Lillico’s memory was honoured this past Sunday as family gathered in Cook’s Chapel. The video tribute shared, captured the life of a man who lived life to the fullest. Rick touched so many lives… he will be missed!
