1927 ~ AUDREY DOYLE ~ 2020

Audrey Doyle passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Good Samaritans, Medicine Hat, at the age of 93 years. She leaves to cherish her many memories her four sons; Patrick, Michael, Timothy and Thomas; one daughter; Anne Marie, as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Charles; son, Maurice and daughters, Charlotte and Diedre. Audrey was a warbride, coming to Canada from England in 1946 and settling in Miramichi/Doylesbrook area in New Brunswick. She spent the last 10 years in Medicine Hat. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private graveside service will take place at a later date in New Brunswick. 1935 ~ ROSE ULLAND ~ 2020

Rose Ulland of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the age of 85 years, beloved wife of the late Cliff Ulland. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. (Masks are mandatory). 1943 ~ RONALD SCHORR ~ 2020

Ronald (Ron) Schorr of Medicine Hat, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan on December 22, 2020, at the age of 77 with his beloved wife and grand-daughter at this side. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Donna and daughters Cammie (Brian) Kannekens of Medicine Hat, and Juli (Desmond) Jordan of Calgary; grandchildren Quinn, Kelsi, Kia Kannekens and Maiya, Desirae, and Sacha Jordan; sister Val (Dave) Moir of Cayley, Alberta; sister-in-law Florence Schorr of Medicine Hat; and dear friends, Werner and Debra Redel, from Edmonton. Ron is predeceased by his parents, John and Rosie Schorr, and brother Vernon Schorr. Ron was born March 15, 1943 in Medicine Hat and lived his entire life on the Schorr family farm on the Eagle Butte Road in the Woolchester area. He attended Antelope Cut Country School (where he was the janitor at age 12) and Medicine Hat High School. He met his wife, Donna, while they both were attending Hillcrest Christian College; they were married in 1967. His faith was important to him and he attended Little Plume Church his entire life. Ron was a passionate and progressive farmer having started as a youngster doing barnyard chores and helping work the land with a Fordson tractor and a 6-foot cultivator. He was an innovative risk-taker, often experimenting with new machinery and crops; he was one of the first in the area to plant canola and later served 6 years on the Alberta Canola Commission. Ron was naturally competitive and in his athletic younger years he loved to curl and play softball and slo-pitch. He was always ready for a game of Rook or crokinole, and enjoyed fishing, even stocking the farmyard dugout with trout. The grandchildren will remember the many quad rides while Grandpa checked the crops. Those wishing to pay their respects to Ron and his family may do so on Sunday, December 27th, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5. (Covid-19 restrictions will be in place). The interment will take place at 1:30 pm on Monday, December 28th, 2020 at Little Plume Cemetery. A private family service will follow at Little Plume Church. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions the service will be by family invitation only. 1947 ~ JOAN BRIGDEN ~ 2020

Joan Brigden of Cypress County, AB , passed away on Monday, December 21st, 2020 at the age of 73 years. Joan leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband, Ross; son, Graham (Carla) Brigden and their daughter, Emily; brother, Robert (Laureen) Keating; sister, Maryanne (Jack) Lindsay; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Dorothy; son, Ryan; brother, Clifford; and grandson, Connor. Joan was born on April 4, 1947 in Estevan, SK and was raised in Benson. As a young adult she moved to Regina and received her education in business technologies and then accepted a position with Coop Insurance in Regina in their computer department back when computers were still a relatively new idea. Joan met the man who was to be the love of her life in Regina, Ross Brigden, and in 1975 they were married. They remained there and they welcomed their first son, Graham. In 1979, the family moved to Redcliff, AB. Shortly after, they were blessed with second son, Ryan. In 1986, the family moved to their current home in Cypress County, just west of Medicine Hat. Joan was an exceptional wife and mother. Her family and her friends were her passion and delight and she especially loved spending time with them at the family cottage in Kenosee, SK. She leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. MARCEL GENDRE

 

1956 ~ 2020

 

With heavy hearts the family of Marcel Leon Gendre, beloved husband of Patty Gendre and Dad to Jesse, announce his unexpected passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the age of 64 years. Marcel was born in Stettler, Alberta on May 6, 1956 and was raised on the family farm south of Erskine. He attended grade school in Erskine and graduated high school in Stettler. Marcel furthered his education at NAIT where he received his Chemical Technology Diploma and later achieved a 2nd Class Power Engineer ticket. On July 15, 1978, Marcel married Patty Ogle in Stettler and their marriage was blessed with a son, Jesse. Those who knew Marcel know that he was a kind, thoughtful and caring person. He had a strong positive attitude and always looked at things as they could be… not as they were. He loved to ride his motorcycle on the wide open roads and always looked forward to summer rides with his cousins. Marcel found much comfort in relaxing in his hot tub before retiring for the night. He had strong faith in the Lord and this was the time where he could reflect and talk to the Lord. He always said his greatest gifts in life was knowing his Lord and his little family. Marcel was always happiest when he was with his wife and son. He had a zest for life and always kept active whether he was skiing, swimming, playing baseball, racquetball, ping pong or driving his 98 Honda Accord that he put over 1 million km’s on! He loved the outdoors going for rides and loved to sit around bonfires and visit with his pals. He had a great memory and could recall historical dates, family history and he never forgot birthdays! Marcel was truly a unique individual who will be missed dearly. He is survived by his loving wife, Patty and his son, Jesse; his father, Leon Gendre; siblings, Lucille (Rick), Lillianne (Eugene), Bernadette (Don), Yvonne, Louis­ and Henri (Lisa). He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Verna Ogle; sisters-in-law, Bev (Lyle), Judy (Mark), Alice (Jim); brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Kim), Dave (Wanda), Everett (Sherry) and numerous nieces and nephews. Marcel was predeceased by his mother, Rosemarie Gendre; father-in-law, Roy Ogle and brother-in-law, Dwayne Raddis. Due to Covid gathering restrictions, the Celebration of Marcel’s life will be private. The service will be live-streamed on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, beginning at 2:00 p.m. (MST).
