1942 ~ HARRY “TAD” MINOR ~ 2020

Harry McCall “Tad” Minor of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, September 11th, 2020 at the age of 78 years. Harry leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Fay; children, Thane Minor of Medicine Hat, Tammy (Guy) Shapka of Alix, AB, and Tim Minor of Sylvan Lake, AB; grandchildren, Tanner, Teagan, Kate, and Callum; brother, Joe Minor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tad was predeceased by his parents, Perry and Kay Minor; brothers, Tony Minor and Tim Minor; and one nephew, Aldon Minor. Tad attended school in Brooks then went to Nebraska to finish high school and play football. At age 16, Tad qualified for the Olympics in trapshooting but was unable to attend because of school. He received his auctioneer training in Iowa, married Fay in 1962 and moved to Winnipeg to start his career at the stockyards. Tad, Fay and their three children came back to Medicine Hat in 1967. He established his reputation as an honest cattle buyer and had several clients for three generations. His wit and one liners were well known. Medicine Hat Golf Course was his summer home where he had many good friends. He was an avid card player and loved the horse races. He had a chair in almost every auction market in Southern Alberta and Saskatchewan and knew most of the ranchers in this area. For many years, Tad enjoyed watching his son in-law Guy Shapka compete as a professional saddle bronc rider. Tad was especially proud of all four of his grandchildren. With his generous emotional and financial support they were able to play many high-level sports as well as attend Nursing and Law School. Tad will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. We know he is up there somewhere playing cards and entertaining everyone with his sense of humour. A private family graveside service will be held in October. Memorial gifts in Tad’s memory may be made to the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre, c/o Medicine Hat & District Health Foundation, 666 5 St SW, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 4H6 or to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, c/o Foothills Medical Centre, 1331 29 St NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2. Joseph Eugene André Bérubé passed away on the morning of Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital at the age of 65, after complications from a sudden stroke and cancer diagnosis. The love of his life, Lorna, recently passed away on July 5, 2020. They are now reunited, together forever. André is survived by his son, Paul Bérubé; daughter, Rachelle Bérubé; granddaughter, Eden Bérubé whom he loved to dance with; sister, Diane Bérubé; sister, Ginette Bérubé; brother, Michel Bérubé; and sister, Sylvie Bérubé. At nineteen years old, André joined the Canadian Armed Forces, and it was the Airforce that introduced him to his beloved wife of 42 years, Lorna, whom he met by accident when she sat down at the wrong table to eat. He was a skilled F-18 fighter jet mechanic at the core, but more than that, he led by example and always exceeded expectation. During the Gulf War, he was stationed in Lahr, Germany, where he had the duty and responsibility of an entire squadron and fleet of aircraft. He retired with the rank of Warrant Officer. In retirement, André drove school bus, had a love of RVing, and cruising. A travel planner at heart, he had a talent for sourcing his next itinerary and could meticulously map out destinations, like the New York subway system or the best route to get across Barcelona! He also had an eye for fine art, enjoyed a quality glass of wine and could fix anything! Papa, on se souviendra toujours de toi comme le protecteur et le pourvoyeur de notre famille, la personne sur laquelle nous pourrions compter pour nous soutenir et nous guider vers ce que nous sommes devenus aujourd’hui. Prends soin de maman. Condolences may be sent through http://www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading André Bérubé. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to
