BISCHOFF

Lucille was born in Leader, Saskatchewan on May 30, 1945 and passed away in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on February 9, 2020 at the age of 74 years.
Lucille attended Wienrevew school 1.5 miles from the family farm east of Fox Valley. Later her parents moved to Fox Valley purchasing the local General Store soon to be known as “Weinberger General Store”. She attended Fox Valley school until grade 10, her grade 11 education was at the Prelate Convent later completing her grade 12 at the Fox Valley school.
Naturally athletic, mom enjoyed many sports, softball, ping pong, bocce ball, and the occasional game of pool with the boys, she was a good sport.
Mom met Martin the love of her life in the summer of 1963 at the Richmound Sports Day. They dated for a year and a half before getting married on Oct. 11, 1965. They moved to the Bischoff family farm operating a mixed farm of grain and livestock this is where they began their lives together. Soon after, their first son Blaine was born on August 28, 1966, followed by Shane on August 27, 1968, Dwayne on October 1, 1969 and Daren on June 17, 1971. They farmed together until 2011 when mom and dad retired staying on the farm.
Mom was a home maker, farm hand, wife, and mother of many skills and talents. She was the family hairdresser (took hair dressing course), and a teacher’s aid in Fox Valley and Richmound. Her other talents included ceramics, painting, sewing, gardening, and raising little chickens and occasionally needing to pull a calf with one of the boys at her side.
Mom loved family, camping, boating, sitting around the campfire conversating and having a good beer! Many laughs with family and friends, sights seeing, climbing to the highest point in Dinosaur Park was just another challenge in her life. She enjoyed a good movie, especially when it was at the “Clear Water” drive-in theater. Mom loved to dance at socials and weddings all the boys had to dance at least once with her “no excuses”. She was an exceptional hostess! Always made sure your coffee cup was full and snacks were on the table. Mom was famous for choke cherry jam, buns by the dozens, and cookies. Mom never complained about anything she was concerned about everyone else. Family and friends were her true love.

MOEN

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Jean Moen at the age of 75. She will be lovingly remembered by her partner, Paul Thibault, her two sons, Martin (Sookyung) and Kristian, two grandsons, Peter and Alan, sisters, Sophie (Arthur) Prizeman and Netilia McArthur, her daughter-in-law, Eventhia Werner and her sisters-in-law Elizabeth Ewasiuk and Faye Ewasiuk. She had many nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Philip and Mary Ewasiuk, two brothers, Anthony Ewasiuk and Marshall Ewasiuk, her brother-in-law, John McArthur, and her ex-husband, Ingar Moen. Carol was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, and lived at various times in England, Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and Nova Scotia. She was an artist and writer. Her art centers around the expressionistic depiction of figures, such as mystics, monkeys and birds, often combining a playful quality with dark undertones. While creating her work, the intuitive processes of addition, subtraction, scraping, gouging or overpainting would allow for new ideas – often based on a feeling of texture or colour – to emerge. As well as being influenced by a deep knowledge of art history, Carol's artistic practice was shaped by her early memories of Ukrainian Orthodox church services: the choir singing through much of the liturgy, the incense, the icons. Working across different forms and materials, such as painting, collage, assemblage and sculpture, Carol created deeply felt works of mystical and haunting beauty. Throughout her life, Carol took great enjoyment from teaching others, and sharing her knowledge, sensitivity and kindness. She was an avid reader of women writers, loved gardening and was a passionate advocate for animal welfare. The family would like to thank those who offered such generosity and support during Carol's final years struggling with the effects of dementia, including her kind friends, the caring staff at South Country Village and her loving care companion, Marcy Smith, at Extended Family Services Inc. Private family times of remembrance will be held. Anyone who wishes to make a donation in memory of Carol, and her love of animals, can do so by sending it to the Alberta S.P.C.A. – 17904 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5S 2W3. To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to: pattfh@telusplanet.net subject heading: Carol Moen, or you may visit http://www.pattisonfuneralhome.com and leave a message of condolence.
