They started their new life in Canada after leaving behind those they loved in Portugal but looking forward to exciting opportunities with their relatives in Canada. Gualberto was a talented finish carpenter and ran a successful construction business with his partner for many years. Those who knew Gualberto would say he was a thoughtful, kind and gentle soul. Above all else he valued his time with his family and devoted his life to ensuring that they felt loved and valued. His daughters truly respected Gualberto and felt he was a wonderful example of how a father should be. Gualberto was a loving grandfather who adored spending time teaching his grandchildren about his passion for gardening, baking, cooking and building. His greatest love of his life was Lucia. He cherished her throughout their life together and his deep affection and respect for her never diminished despite the obstacles they faced. His faith in God was woven into every aspect of his life. Our lives will forever be enriched because of his wisdom and love. Thank you to the nurses and caregivers who showed kindness and compassion to Gualberto.
