1941 ~ ALICE KOPP ~ 2019

Alice Kopp of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of Lloyd Kopp, passed away on Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 at the age of 78 years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her three children; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A private time of remembrance will be held. DAVIS, MARGARET PATRICIA

September 25, 1950 – November 15, 2019
The family of Margaret Davis is saddened to announce that she lost her courageous battle against cancer on November 15, 2019 at the age of 69. She spent her final days in the excellent care of the staff at the Tom Baker Centre in Calgary, surrounded by her girls.
She is survived by daughters Marie (Neil), Shannon (Chris) and Kelly (Alex), much-loved grandson Wyatt who brightened her days, and special “+1 daughter” Riley. She’s also survived by her siblings Merlin (Joanne), Mary Jean (Dwight) and Marvin (Kim), as well as an extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Merle & Marion Collins and her former husband Ronald Davis.
Margaret was born in Medicine Hat and was schooled in Conquerville, Bow Island and Foremost. She married Ron and the pair farmed northeast of Etzikom for 20 years where she became certified in Artificial Insemination, raised Simmental cattle, operated her own school bus route, and acted as chief cook and hired hand, briefly studying nursing before completing a B.Sc. in Education.
Over the years, she worked and volunteered in numerous capacities: MHC campus newspaper paste-up artist, community television videographer, rec hockey score and timekeeper, substitute teacher, casino cash room counter, cab driver, member of the Etzikom School Reunion and 40 Mile FCSS board to name a few. More recently, she turned her love of woodworking and crafting into a business that she ran with her daughter Kelly. She enjoyed attending craft fairs and engaging with potential customers.
Marg was well known for her unusual sense of humour and perspective on life. She famously always brought her own egg to community pancake suppers (“what are pancakes without an egg?”), loved trying new things, sports trivia, word puzzles, games of bingo with her girls, and embraced the silliness in life, even when times were tough. She was an amazing cook, always on the lookout for the next good deal, and a reno-show addict. She made an impact on the lives of people around her in a life filled with crazy adventures.
The family is grateful for the wonderful care and support she received while at the Tom Baker Centre. She embraced the nurses and personal care staff as friends and their kindness and compassion made her final days as peaceful as possible.
Margaret requested no funeral service, though a celebration of her life will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

L’ABBEE

Helen Antoinette L’Abbee, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the age of 93 years, beloved wife of the late Laura L’Abbee. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Dianna Pruden, Barbara Tougas, Sheila Tougas, Gizelle L’Abbee and Debbie Orvis; fourteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Besides her husband Laura, she was predeceased by her parents Lydia and Edward Hall. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. She will be interred in Kelowna B.C. with her husband.
