BOWLES

Ronald Karl Waldorf Bowles passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with family by his side on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at the age of 78 years, beloved husband of Sylvia Bowles of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory three children, Roseanne Skovmose (Brian Ostrander) and her children Deon and Cassidy, Wade (Patti) Bowles and their children Alex, Derek and Cole, Jennifer Bowles and her children Solana and Rava; his brothers, Levern (Laura May) Bowles and Lyle (Delorse) Bowles; his sisters, Donna Mae Moore, Betty Ann (Cliff) Besplug, and sister-in-law Dorothy Csikany as well and numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws. He was predeceased by his parents, Drexel and Judith Bowles; three brothers, Delroy, his twin brother Donnie, Keith (Margaret), his sisters Marion and Lillian in infancy, and his brother-in- law Ken Moore. Ronald was born on September 21, 1941 in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Ron grew up in the Cypress Hills and retired in Elkwater. He married the love of his life Sylvia Barroby in 1963. He enjoyed such careers as ranch/farm hand, Electrolux salesman, retiring as a custodian in Medicine Hat. He would gather friends and family for a fun game of baseball, cards and always loved dancing with Sylvia. The most important part of his life was his family and grandchildren which he loved and cared for deeply. Over the years Ron and Sylvia also had many foster children. The family would like to extend a thank you to their relatives and friends for their concern as well as the nurses and staff at 4W for the excellent care Ronald received. The funeral service will be held in the Heritage Room at the HomeStay Inn and Suites (954 7th St SW, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 7R7) on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend. DAISY BEHIEL

August 22, 1919 ~ October 20, 2019

Mrs. Daisy Behiel, beloved wife of the late Mr. Joseph Behiel, passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Hospital on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at the remarkable age of 100 years. Daisy was the loving mother of 10 children, Eileen Kiefer, Dorothy Martin, Marvin (Deceased), Wayne Behiel, Melvin Behiel, Brenda Behiel, Lynn Gauthier, Donna Quinn, Wilton Behiel and Debbie Yaholnitsky. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her 33 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, 3 sisters as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Along with her husband, Daisy was predeceased by 2 sisters, a son, 2 grandsons and 3 sons-in-law. Daisy was born on a small farm near Dafoe, Saskatchewan and received her education at Mimer School in Kandahar, Saskatchewan. She married Joseph Behiel at St. Peter’s College in Muenster, Saskatchewan on October 24, 1939. Daisy enjoyed staying active whether fishing, knitting, doing puzzles or playing scrabble. She also enjoyed watching sports, especially curling and hockey. Daisy had strong family values and relished in each opportunity to get the family together, especially reunions. She drew on her strong Roman Catholic faith along with the love of her family as she celebrated a milestone achievement of her 100th birthday! Her memory will forever resonate in the hearts and minds of all those she leaves behind. A Celebration of Daisy’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, October 25, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Father Francis Tran officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. DOYLE-WEIGEL

Paula Marie Doyle-Weigel danced her way into the cosmos on Friday, October 18, 2019, at the age of 52 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Kati (Logan) Smythe and their children Sophia, Jude, and Iya; and Laura-Beth (Joel Brooks) Chisholm and their child Luca; her husband Michael and his children Tony (Dayna) Weigel, Cassie (Blake) Shaw and their children Aaliyah, Emma and Elliot, and Brianna Weigel and her daughter Nova; as well as her partner Ryan Bartsoff and his daughter Makenna; her father Patrick Doyle; two brothers Robert (Angelique) Doyle and their children Justin and Austin, Evan (Michele) Doyle and their children Cody and Ethan; one sister Lori (Doug) Frelick and their children Samantha, Sydney and Simon. She was predeceased by her mother Patricia Doyle. She loved to see how far she could push her body. With fierce determination and strong will, she competed in body building, ran countless marathons, many triathlons and completed an iron man. She loved to go camping, hiking and spend countless hours in nature. As fiercely as she lived, she loved just the same. In the short 52 years she lived, she managed to travel the globe and experienced all kinds of adventures. She was passionate about her own healing and travelled around Central and South America learning about different kinds of plant medicines, which then led her to helping others with their own healing. Paula had 8 grandchildren who were her will to live and brought her so much joy. She will be greatly missed by her family and all the countless lives she touched. As they entered the chapel this past Friday, Don and family experienced a heart warming show of suppport through the presence of their many good friends, who all gathered to honour the memory of a very special lady… Pat. Her loving influence will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.
