He is survived by his children, Bruce (Wendy-Ellen) Nittel, Dennis Nittel, Joanne (Jerry) Clark, all of Medicine Hat, Debbie (Clint) Kleinknecht of Manyberries, and Brenda (Don) Houff of Millet, Alberta. Left to miss his “We love you” are his grandchildren, Nathan Nittel (Jenna Jelinski), Sharlynn Nittel (Daniel Pearton); Renae (Kelly) Auger, Joelle (Jason) Tschritter, Dallas (Kristy) Nittel; Lisa (Michael) Moe, Rob (Shannon) Clark, Colette (Kelly) Kalo, Jessica Stephens, Kent (Brae) Clark; Shawn (Teresa) Kleinknecht, Carla (Rory) McArthur, Darcy (Taylor) Kleinknecht, Denny Houff (Dani Theriault), and Jesse (Mar) Houff. His hugs and kisses (and fridge candy) will be missed by his 26 great grandchildren. Herb is survived by one brother-in-law, Ray Seitz and one sister-in-law, Edna Seitz. Herb was predeceased by his parents John and Magdelena Nittel; his siblings Ida, Melita, Oscar, Nora, Alvina, and Clifford; and his grandsons, Devon Kleinknecht and Blaine Nittel. Herb was born June 18, 1921 on the Family Farm in the Woolchester District. Herb began his love for farming when he helped his dad with farm work. He took great pride in the field work he accomplished with a team of horses. When Herb sold his land to Bruce and retired from farming, he kept himself busy helping Jerry and Bruce with their farms. Nothing made Herb happier than assisting Clint, Jerry, Bruce and Steve Clark as he vaccinated at their brandings. Herb was not a ‘talker’ but what he had to say was always very helpful. His family will miss his font of wisdom. The family would like to thank Dr. Best and the staff of 5W who took such great care of Herb. They would also like to thank Dr. Bill (Ruzycki), his family physician, who took care of Herb’s medical care and always had time to joke with him during his medical appointments. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5 on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 1:00 to 1:55 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Tuesday, July 9th, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Michael Clark officiating. WADE WOLFE

Family and friends gathered together in Cook’s Chapel to honour the life of a brother and dear friend through tributes, special music and reflection from Celebrant Getz. Although Wade will be dearly missed, the love of his memory will not be forgotten.

If ever there is a tomorrow
When we’re not together,
Your love and kindness is what…
Our grateful hearts will treasure.

His Life Lived…
His Life Cherished…
His Life Honoured.
