“Jim” Adelbert James Adams, beloved husband of 55 years to Faith Adams of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, December 25th, 2018 at the age of 84 years. Jim also leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Kim (Martin) Lafrance and Dawn (Darrell) Bonagofsky; three grandsons, Brendan, Drake and Kieran; his honourary daughter, Pam (Alan) Lafrance; and all those who knew him. 1927 ~ BERTHA HARRISON ~ 2018

Mrs. Bertha Helen Harrison of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Hugh Harrison, passed away on Monday, December 17th, 2018 at the age of 91 years. Bertha leaves to cherish her memory her children, Penny Holst, Wayne (Brenda) Harrison, Gary Harrison and Dr. Sidney (Maggie) Harrison; nine grandchildren, Laura, Shawntele, Jason, Brad, Morgan, Sarah, Connor, Evan and Mel; fourteen great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bertha was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Harrison; her parents, Leonard and Olga Harrison; son-in-law, Kurt Holst; daughter-in-law, Jean Harrison; four brothers; and three sisters. Bertha Harrison (nee Miller) was born in Fox Valley on September 9th, 1927. She attended school in Flaxcombe and Estuary, Saskatchewan and worked on a ranch in the Buffalo district before coming to Medicine Hat. Bertha worked at Medalta Potteries and the Medicine Hat Hospital. She married Hugh Harrison on February 22nd, 1946 in Medicine Hat where they had their four children. In 1979 Bertha retired from the Auxiliary Hospital due to ill health. Bertha spent 12 years in Guiding as Captain of 4th Medicine Hat Company (Westminster) at the same time was a Commissioner and Camp Advisor. She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary Association, while not active spent time knitting slippers they sold in the gift shop. She also worked as a volunteer at the Post and the Wellington and was a member of Westminster United Church U.C.W. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday, January 7th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. Mr. Edgar “Sandy” Alexander Welling, soulmate of Linda Hope of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, December 31st, 2018 at the age of 70 years. Sandy leaves to cherish his memory his son, Corey (Corrie) Welling; one brother, Ray (Ruby) Welling; and one sister, Norma (Brian) Schlinker. Sandy was predeceased by his son, Ryan Welling; and his parents, Ned and Christina Welling. Sandy worked as an electrician and was a “Jack of All Trades” as he could operate any tool and could fix almost anything. Sandy also loved working on old cars and was a member of the Cypress Rod and Custom Car Club. ANHELIGER (Kost)

Edna Anheliger passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at the age of 93 years, beloved wife of the late Vince Anheliger. She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Jerry Anheliger, Donna (Brian) Vossler, Morley (Agnes) Anheliger, Randy (Francesca) Anheliger, Harlan (Lori) Anheliger; eight grandchildren, Nolan Vossler, Cory (Krista) Vossler, Curtis (Carrie) Anheliger, Darren (Kacie) Anheliger, Cole Anheliger, Stephanie Anheliger, Sydni Anheliger and Caiden Anheliger; seven great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Braxton Vossler, Payton and Hunter Vossler, Elizabeth and Jason Anheliger, Jackson Anheliger; one sister Martha Durr, numerous nieces and nephews as well as members of Vince’s family. She was predeceased by her parents, Otillia and Henry Kost; her husband Vince on March 4, 2013, as well as ten brothers and sisters. Edna was born on August 26, 1925, at Schuler, Alberta and was raised on the family farm. She moved to Medicine Hat to work at Medalta Pottery and that is where she met Vince. On June 24, 1950, they were married in Medicine Hat. Edna worked at various jobs but spent most of her time raising her family and later helping with her grandchildren. Edna loved to go to garage or auction sales where she could be found with the Snoop Sisters (her two close sisters Ruby and Maggie) confidently bidding away on the items. She loved to bowl and babysit the kids at the bowling alley. She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren at their sporting events but… her grandchildren were her life. Her family would like to thank the staff at Good Sam’s for taking care of their mom for the last 10 years. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Monday, from 12 noon to 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. Peter van Montfort, beloved husband of Inge, passed away in Medicine Hat on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the age of 76 years. Along with Inge, left to cherish Peter’s memory are his children, Jasmina (Stewart) Scheuerman of Medicine Hat, Elaine van Montfort of Medicine Hat, Marc (Amanda) van Montfort of Calgary; step-children, Richard Reich of Thorsby and Lisa Reich of Medicine Hat; grandchildren, Mitchell and Savannah Scheuerman, Rowan Morrison as well as Erikson, Keaton and Beau van Montfort. Peter is also survived by his siblings in the Netherlands, Margit Duda and Anneke van Montfort (Richard Visser); Jaques (Josje), Huub (Queen), Jo (Sandra), Harrie (Marlene) and Tonie, one brother in Ontario, Albert (Annemarie) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Cornelis and Anna van Montfort; brother, Bert as well as his first wife and the mother of his three children, Marija Maltby. Peter was born on April 15, 1942 in the Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada, settling in Toronto in 1962. In 1975, he was transferred by his employer, R. L. Crain to Medicine Hat where he worked as a Certified Management Accountant. This led to him starting his own accounting firm, Duca Accounting. Peter enjoyed hockey and was a huge Maple Leafs fan. He loved reading and dancing and was heavily into researching his family tree and the travels that came with it. Peter belonged to the Dutch and German Clubs, the German Choir and also enjoyed singing with the Barbershoppers for a short time. A Private Celebration of Peter’s life will be held at a future date. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Rose Rauch on December 26, 2018 just 10 days after her 95th birthday.
Rose was the youngest child born to Gotlieb and Luisa Ehrman.
She was predeceased by her father, stepfather, mother, sisters: Katies, Matilda and Martha, brothers: Jacob, Henry and Bill, and husband Fred Rauch.
She leaves to cherish her memory son Dale (Josie) and daughter Heather (Allan), grandchildren: Danton (Kim) and Lacey (Danny), great grandsons: Remington and Sullivan.
Mom enjoyed crafts, curling and the Blue Jays. And bridge, My, how she looked forward to every bridge game. Thank you to her bridge buddies.
Thank you Donna for making mom pretty each week.
Mom wanted to make sure to say how much she appriciated the men and ladies who delivered meals on wheels and always had time for a pleasant chat. And to the home care ladies who were always ready to chat were always cheerful and enabled her to stay in her own home Thank You.

Having been diagnosed with Alzheimers disease five years ago, Thomas Andrew Nicoll has succumbed to his illness. Tom passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the age of 82 years at the Good Samaritans with his family by his side. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Arlene of 61 years; son, Rick (Peggy Reding) and daughter-in-law, Robin Yam. Tom will also be remembered by his sisters, Jean Klaudt, Barb (John) Roberts, Evelyn Bootland; brother, Neil (Susan Schank); brother-in-law, Mark (Sonja) Marshall, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Tom was predeceased by his son, Jack Nicoll; parents, Thomas and Norma Nicoll; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herb and Christiana Seitz; sisters, Dorothy Hammel and Valerie Marshall, including brothers-in-law, nephews and other family members. To all who knew him, Tom will be remembered as a quiet gentle soul with a quick smile and wit to match. He had an unwavering love for his family.
