BORGER

George Adam Borger of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at the age of 89 years. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Janis (Terry) Mattheis, Holly (Everald) Olson; four grandchildren, Dr. Kelly Mattheis, Christy Mattheis, Everly (Neil) Larson, Chelsey (Steve) Kerr; five great grandchildren, Kobie, Kenzy, Kynlee, Jase and Pacey and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marvis and his wife and companion in later years, Viola Wessner; his brother, Albert and two sisters, Ruth Schiebel and Edna Medaris. He was born in Loreburn, Saskatchewan, the youngest of four children and farmed in the area for many years until he and Marvis retired to Medicine Hat in the 70’s. In later years, they moved to Chinook Village and enjoyed the fellowship and community of many good friends. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Roberta “Robbie” Anne McDonald of Cypress County passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018, at the age of 74 years, beloved wife of the late Howard “Brent” McDonald. WILLOWS

Violet Emily Willows of Medicine Hat passed away on December 17, 2018, at the age of 94 years, beloved wife of the late Orval Willows and loving mother to Harriet (Roger) Gimmel, Hazel (Lawrence) Wells, Helen Paul, Peggy Hanson, Gwen Schimpf and one daughter-in-law Monica Hazzard. She is survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; three brothers, Rueben McDonald, Charlie (Anne) Hazzard, Bill (Dorothy) Hazzard; her sister, Marg Teichroeb as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by her parents Celia and Rueben McDonald; stepfather, Charles Hazzard; step-sister, Eileen; two sons, Johnny and Keith; her sister, Georgina Harrison; two sons-in-law, Urbain Paul and Bob Schimpf; sister-in-law, Mary McDonald; brothers-in-law, Roland Harrison and Don Tuchroeb. The interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
