1946 ~ ANITA HARRIS ~ 2017
Anita Laura Harris passed away suddenly but peacefully on Thursday, October 9th, 2017 at the age of 71 years. She will be remembered with love by her family: Pam Bishop (Ken), Jerry Bishop, their daughters, Laura-Lee Bishop, Jo-Anne Bishop (Bart), and Jennifer Ellerman (Murray) and their families, Shirley Trockstad (Bruce), Judy Finch (Steve) and their families. She will also be sadly missed by her huge extended family (CORE). Anita was predeceased by her parents, Roberta and Howard Harris. Anita loved spending time with her family on special occasions such as birthdays, Easter, Thanksgiving and especially Christmas. She was quite a character and was called “Princess” by many of her caregivers. Anita loved shopping for jewellry – had to be bling, having her hair done and nails painted, dressing nicely, and all her teddie bears and stuffies. She could hardly wait for the new Avon book to come out and loved Fridays when all the newspaper flyers came. Everyone who knew Anita knows how strong willed she could be, but that was Anita! She had a great sense of humor, a hearty laugh and a smile that could light up a room. She also had a great love of music and singing. Anita’s home for the past 3 years was the 13th Avenue Group Home. She impacted so many lives and all staff who knew and cared for her loved her and she will be sadly missed by all. The care, love, compassion, kindness and friendship she received was truly amazing. She was so blessed to have so many wonderful and caring people with her constantly. A Celebration of Anita's Life will be held at SAAMIS CREEKSIDE CENTRE, 11 Dunmore Road SE, on Tuesday, November 14th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating.
