KALISTA

Marion Kalista, one of the most loving, selfless individuals who touched so many lives during her time on this earth, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the age of 86 years. Marion lived an extraordinary life, born in Tientsin, North-China where she lived until the age of fifteen. During the time of the War, the family departed back to Germany. In 1953, Marion and her husband Joseph Kalista, along with their daughter, immigrated to Canada. Edmonton was where they settled – in 1955 Marion gave birth to twin boys, Bob Kalista and George Kalista. Those who knew Marion could see the love she carried for her boys and two granddaughters, Maddison Kalista and Brooklyn Kalista-Braun. Family was everything, we all dearly miss her presence, it is one that can never be replaced. The memories made and love shared will always be held so close and never forgotten. Marion loved people, she was the true essence of the saying “Do onto others, as you would have them do onto you”. During her last days, she looked forward to her celebration of life and we look forward to being able to honour someone who has given so much and taken so little. The celebration of Marion’s life will take place at the Medicine Hat Golf & Country Club on August 31, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., we welcome family, friends and those who knew Marion, to take the time to enjoy this special day. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre (Medicine Hat Regional Hospital) c/o 666 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 4H6 or the Women’s Shelter, Box 2500, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 8G8.
