SZONDI

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Glen Kenneth Szondi of a heart attack, on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at the age of 62 years, beloved husband of Fay Szondi and loving father to Cameron Szondi. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his brother, Barry Szondi and family, his sister, Dagney Szondi, brother-in-law, Ray Knodel and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Gustov Szondi. Fay says …He was the anchor in my life, he did everything for me. His love encompassed me completely when I suffered through my joint surgeries. Glen was active with the Alberta Fish and Game Society and loved personal hunting activities; “always trying to get that trophy sheep”. Hunting season couldn’t come fast enough so he could use his new truck, interstate trailer and Razor. Golfing was a very special pastime for Glen, he was also passionate about watching and commentating on the Tigers’ games. To top it all off, he enjoyed doing whatever he could in his church; especially ushering in people with a huge smile on his face. Glen and Fay enjoyed many trips to Maui, most recently, this past spring for Fay’s milestone birthday. Glen shared Fay’s love for a long-time family pet, as well as her tears when they recently had to say goodbye. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday, from 1:00 to 1:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Temple Baptist Church (606 7th Street SW) on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Findley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers or food, please consider donations to the S.P.C.A. – 55 Southwest Drive SW, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 8E8. To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to: pattfh@telusplanet.net subject heading: Glen Szondi, or you may visit http://www.pattisonfuneralhome.com and leave a message of condolence.
