Sharon Werner, age 57 years, passed away after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer on Friday, April 28th, 2017 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. HODGSON

Gladys Hodgson was born at home on the farm at Winnifred, on Saturday, July 15, 1911, and passed away at her home in Bow Island on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the age of 105 years. Gladys is survived by her children Gordon Hodgson of Edmonton; and Norman (Susan) Hodgson of Blind Bay, BC; Gail (Lee) Lane-Gibson of Bow Island; her daughter-in-law Anne Hodgson of Bow Island; and son-in-law Martin Parent of Quesnel, BC; her grandchildren: Roxy Thacker (Rodger Herring), Wayne Hodgson, Geraldine (Greg) Rye, Robert (Stacey) Gilbert, Nathan (Jennifer) Hodgson, Aaron Hodgson (Tracee Brees), Clayton (Kimberly) Hodgson, Brenna (Evan) Douglas, Chantel (Everett) Timmons; her great grandchildren, Troy Leismeister (Aimee Voeller), Kassie Thacker, Brandon Schenkey, Ashley (Cliff) Schroeder, Tamarah (Matt) Thomas, Brandon Rye, Christina Gilbert, Emily Gilbert, Riley Hodgson, Zoe Hodgson, Shayla Hodgson, Tristan Hodgson, Jax Hodgson, Mya Hodgson, Connor Douglas, Zane Douglas, Ryder Douglas, Dacey Timmons and Keely Timmons; her great great grandchildren, Mason Schroeder and Deklan Thomas. She is also survived by her two sisters Edna Penrose and Ruth Haddow; numerous nieces and nephews; and all her extended family at the Pleasant View Lodge. Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Jerold Hodgson (1988); son Clifford Hodgson (1990); daughters Maxine Hodgson (in infancy); Betty Jo Gilbert (2014); daughters-in-law Lee Hodgson (2002); Giselle Hodgson (2011); and son-in-law Dennis Lane (1978). Born to John and Gunhild Krokom, Gladys spent her growing years with her three brothers and seven sisters. She married Jerold Hodgson on February 7, 1931, and together they raised their family in Winnifred, until moving into Bow Island in 1977. The funeral service will be held in St. Andrew’s United Church ( Bow Island) on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Lisa Waites officiating. A private interment will follow in the Bow Island Cemetery.
