1929 ~ 2017
It is with sadness that the family of Michael Peter Thome announce his passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, Medicine Hat on Friday, March 24, 2017, at the age of 87 years. Mike was born and raised on the family farm and went to school in Fox Valley, SK. He married Lena “Lynn” Gutfriend in Medicine Hat in 1956. Mike loved the family farm and worked there until his retirement. He had a great sense of humour and was very soft hearted towards his family and friends. Mike enjoyed all family events and occasions. His memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of his children, Debbie Thome (Gene Wagman), Pam (Wayne†) Lornson, Kelly (Debbie) Thome, Kevin (Twila) Thome, Kim (Laurie) Thome; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, grand- puppies; sisters, Betty Renwick and Rose Sitter. Mike was predeceased by his parents, six brothers and three sisters. The family wish to thank all the wonderful staff at River Ridge (Masterpiece). To them Mike was their “Shining Star”. Mrs. Theresa Streifel of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017, at the age of 91 years, beloved wife of the late Lambert Streifel. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Lawrence (June) Streifel; two grandchildren, Laurianne Streifel and Christopher (Leeanne) Streifel; two great grandchildren, Tayden and Madilee. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr.
