1930 ~ KISINGER ~ 2016

Lynn Kisinger of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Edward "Eddy" Kisinger, passed away on Friday, September 9th, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Lynn leaves to cherish her memory her son, Bill (Ruth) Kisinger; two daughters, Cheryl (Ken) Hirsch and Brenda (Rob Hauck) Hazelaar; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and daughter by heart, Hanna Lee. Lynn was predeceased by her husband, Eddy; her parents, Michael and Irene Plotsky; and one brother, Bill Plotsky. Lynn had a friendly nature, loved to talk to anyone, and enjoyed working with the public. She was always very well dressed and was known by the nickname 'Red'. Lynn will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Harley Lehr, beloved husband of Celia Lehr of Walsh, passed away on Sunday, September 11th, 2016 at the age of 79 years. It is with sadness the family of Odette Campbell announce her peaceful passing at the Ross Payant Nursing Home in Assiniboia, SK in the early hours of Saturday, September 10, 2016, after a long struggle with dementia and alzheimers. She will be missed by her children Ken of Moose Jaw, Debbie of Moose Jaw and John (Maude) of St. John's. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren Rob, Denniel, Rykker, Brock, Lori and Jason. She is survived by her brother Ken (Gwen) and family of Lumsden, SK, her sister Sylvia (Don) and family of Stettler, AB, and by many other relatives who kept in contact with her over the last few years. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of the staff of the Ross Payant Nursing Home in Assiniboia for the fantastic and loving care they provided mom during her 2-1/2 years of residence. We would like to give a special thanks to the Care Aides and Nurses who gave so much time, love and exceptional care 24/7 to mom during her time there. Mom loved all of you. MARTHA ANDERST

June 13, 1923 ~ September 10, 2016

It is with loving hearts that the family of Martha Anderst announce her peaceful passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at the age of 93 years. Martha was born in Medicine Hat on June 23, 1923, a daughter to proud parents, Carl and Carrie Herrmann. She was raised and adopted the values of a hardworking farm girl on the Carl Herrmann Family Farm located south of Schuler. Martha attended the Friedensfeld School and furthered her education at the Christian Training Institute in Edmonton. She met and later married Albert Anderst on July 19, 1946 at Grace Baptist Church in Medicine Hat. They were blessed with six children. As a young girl she developed a deep love for the Lord which she carried throughout her life. Martha was an active member of Friedensfeld Baptist Church while growing up, Hilda Baptist Church from 1946 – 1977 as well as Grace Baptist Church and Hillcrest Evangelical Church in Medicine Hat. She taught Sunday School, served on the Women’s Missionary Fellowship and her voice could be heard singing in the church choirs. Martha was employed as a house cleaner and at the Redcliff Glass Factory during the war years. She was a tireless worker all her life. Family meant everything to her…as a loving mother, grandma and great-grandma, she was a pillar of strength and support for the family. Martha always had a keen interest in the activities of her children and grandchildren and was always there to cheer them on. She had a kind, gentle spirit and warm smile that would light up the room! Martha was a lady who was well liked and offered a valuable gift of friendship to those she met. She had an amazing memory and noted her life by keeping a diary in which she made daily entries for over 50 years! Every occasion, small or great, was memorable to Mom because her love for the Lord and her love for family, friends and people in general. Martha will be dearly remembered by her children, Gloria (Doug) Roth and their family, Marcel (Sherry) Roth – (Jordyn and Eathan) and Jeff; Cliff (Peggy) Anderst and their family, Sharalee (Bruce) Petch – (Austen and Landra), Kimberlee (Phil) Dickau – (Ben and Reese); Carolyn (Cliff) Roth and their family, Morgan (Greg) Rowland – (Drew), Lee and his fiancee, Barbara; Cyril (Linda) Anderst and their family, Jared (Andrea) Anderst – (Eliza, Miriam and Abigail), Peter (Ana) Anderst – (Rocco and Enzo), and David; Janice (Paul) Tee and their family, Lauren (Joel) Billingsley and Maegan Otto; Joanne Otto and her family, Jeremy (Bobbi) – (Brooke-lyn, Brianna, Jordyne, Jaidyne and Hailey), Stephanie – (Courtney). She is also survived by a brother, Rubin (Jean) Herrmann; sisters, Freda (Wally) Kanwischer, Caroline Zeitner and Helen Griscowsky; sister-in-law, Helanda Herman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert; parents; grandson, Landon Otto; two brothers, Ted Herman and Edwin Herrmann and a sister, Barbara Sonnenberg. MILES CLEVE MAYER

Miles C. Mayer passed away on Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at the age of 62 years. Miles was born and raised in Medicine Hat. After graduating from MHHS, he obtained a degree in Political Science from McGill University in Montreal. He then obtained his MBA from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, where he met his future wife, Michele. In 1979 he was able to buy his uncle’s ranch near Manyberries and he started his ranching career. For the first few years he also worked off the ranch, teaching Gear Up Financially through the Alberta Government and as a financial consultant for the Federal Government. He raised Black Angus cattle and produced green feed and hay to feed them. He was very well read and kept up with the latest technology. Miles was a wonderful steward of his land and resources, carrying on the traditions of his family. He was a modest, kind man who loved his family and the ranching way of life. He was always ready to help any neighbours. Miles will be greatly missed by his wife, Michele; sons, Lucas and Nathan (Tiffany); sister, Tania Borg (Doug); parents-in-law, George and Dorothy Gauthier; Michele’s siblings, Mary Beveridge (Gary), Teresa Gauthier, Dan Gauthier, Gerard Gauthier (Jane), Cathy Ludlow (Lawrence), and Anne Saftich; aunt, Lillian Hassard; many cousins, nieces and nephews; friends and neighbours. Miles was predeceased by his parents, Herb and Alice Mayer. Miles, along with the family, was very grateful for the wonderful care given to him by Dr. Best and the doctors and nurses on the Palliative Care Unit at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. With heavy hearts, the family of Jean Marion Moore, announce her passing at the Riverview Care Centre on Wednesday, September 8, 2016 at the age of 92 years, with her daughters by her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband Mickey in 2015, one month short of their 70th wedding anniversary. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Betty (Ralph) O’Bray, Heather Wooding (Pat Flinn) and Rachelle “Rae” (Don) Knutson; nine grandchildren, Todd and Lora (Hope, Brent, Cory); Dana and Cody (Austin (Rylie), Justin, Brylee, Balee, Kade); Steven and Stacey (Tanner (Jen), Jayna); James and Rhonda (Lane,Teagan); April and Andrew (Victoria – her daughter Lexington; Ethan); Steven and Larissa (Kiarra, Kloe); Rory (Chris); Cari (Cooper, Coen); Kevin and Karen (Emma, Abbey); as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great friend John Reynolds. She was also predeceased by her parents Rachel and Harry Henderson; Mickey’s parents Milton and Florence Moore; son-in-law James Wooding; two sisters, Eve Park and Betty Duncan; two brothers, Harold and Harry Henderson and two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Tullis and Geraldine Moore. Jean was born on August 24, 1924 in Owen Sound, Ontario. Following school, she was employed building furniture until she joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps, honourably discharged in 1945 with the rank of Corporal. On September 1, 1945 Jean and Mickey were wed in Owen Sound, Ontario and then moved west to Medicine Hat, where they raised their family. Jean was a homemaker while the girls were young, then worked at Co-op and completed her career as a Manager in women’s retail. Her community service included President of Opti-Mrs, President of Ex-Service Women’s Organization and a faithful member of Fifth Avenue Memorial United Church. Jean’s greatest joy was her family. Her hobbies included knitting, jigsaw puzzles and gardening. One of Mom and Dad’s greatest accomplishments was building a cabin in Elkwater, creating a home away from home with many wonderful memories. Following the sale of the cabin, they enjoyed traveling and cruising to various destinations. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12:00 noon – 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.
