Mrs. Agnes Coderre passed away on Tuesday, June 7th, 2016 at the age of 86 years. Agnes was predeceased by her husband, Donald; and son, Gary. Agnes leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tracy Taylor (Scotty), Randy (Celeste) Coderre, Susie Moore (Fred Stickel), Scott (Dallas) Coderre; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. KOENIG

Edwin Koenig passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, at the age of 85 years, beloved husband of the late Hilda Koenig. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Erika (William) Evans, Sylvia (Frank) Takacs, Doris (Simon) Mullis and Angela (Anthony) Lexvold; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; one brother, Eric (Hilda) Koenig; two brothers-in-law, Walter Satzke and Erich Martin as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ludwig and Ida Koenig; his wife, Hilda on January 15, 2010; one grandson Mitchell Mullis; one brother, Fritz and his sisters, Olga, Lydia and Amanda. Edwin was born on March 20, 1931, in Poland. In 1952, he along with his soon-to-be wife, immigrated to Canada. On June 14, 1952, they were married in Redcliff. Dad spent most of his working years at IXL driving the forklift. Dad loved camping, fishing and his beautiful gardens. We will miss dad very much but we know he is with his Heavenly Father and we will see him again one day. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the First Assembly of God Church (395 9th Street SE) on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Lyle Berg officiating. MAPSTONE

Douglas “Doug” Roland Mapstone of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at the age of 88 years, beloved husband of the late Violet Mapstone. He leaves to cherish his memory five children, Diane (Dean) Hirons, Floyd (Anita) Mapstone, Kirk (DeLea) Mapstone, Aaron Mapstone (Dean Stuart) and Marnie Mapstone; eight grandchildren, Marlo and Jody (Paige, Madison, Peyton); Mark and Tannis (Brayden, Brooke); Tanner and Angela (Clayton, Wyatt); Raina; Brady and Rhoda; Christopher; Mason and Mya (their mother Juanita); one brother Raymond (Laverne) Mapstone, one sister Dulcie Arndt, numerous nieces and nephews and his dear friend Olga Weiss and her family. He was predeceased by his wife Violet on February 28, 2005; his parents Annie and Gilbert Mapstone; one son Phillip; four brothers, Gordon, Harry, Norman and Chester and one sister Beda.
Doug was born February 18, 1928, in Oxarat Saskatchewan to Gilbert and Annie Mapstone. As one of eight children he was kept busy on the farm helping with chores and tending to the animals. As a young man he worked for many local farmers and threshing crews. After purchasing some land, he met and married Violet Klatt. Their life was dedicated to farming and raising their children. The farm kept them close to home as they had to be around to milk the cow. Doug became a very dedicated member of the Consul Elks Club until he sold the farm and moved to Medicine Hat in 1993. During his retirement in Medicine Hat he spent time as an avid bowler and taking care of his yard, always the greenest on the block. Spending time with his grandchildren was extremely important to him. In 2005, he lost Violet to illness, and life changed. With his family and close friends, he made it through this difficult time. Over the past several years Olga Weiss has been a dear friend, who was with him and his family to the end. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Diaconal Minister Lila deWaal. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Roy McGee

1928 ~ 2016
Roy Freeman McGee, beloved husband of Marian McGee, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday June 5, 2016, at the age of 87 years. Along with Marian, Roy also leaves to cherish his memory: five children, Wayne (Marion) McGee of Seven Persons, Ken (Chris) McGee of Medicine Hat, Patti (Tim) Dillman of Estevan, SK., Barb (John) Miller of Drumheller and Brian (Sandy) McGee of Medicine Hat; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister; one sister-in-law as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was born on September 22, 1928, in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia and moved to Galt, Ontario as a young man where he met the love of his life and lifelong partner, Marian. They were wed on October 15, 1949 and resided in Galt while raising their family. In 1980, they decided to move west after an extended vacation, settling in Medicine Hat. Throughout his life, Roy was fortunate to have worked in a variety of occupations. He began his industrial career in Galt as a steel fabricator/welder and later earned his Journeyman Sheet Metal Mechanic certification prior to moving to Medicine Hat. Roy was a qualified Appliance Repair Man and for several years operated his own business in Medicine Hat. He was an avid camper throughout his life and Roy and Marian enjoyed their many extended trips travelling across Canada and into the United States. Roy will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Roy’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating.
