She was predeceased by her parents, John and Eva Biel and her husband, Stanley in 1997. Eva was born on March 4, 1930 in Medicine Hat, Alberta and the only child of Eva and John Biel. At an early age, she joined her parents in their market garden enterprise and became an avid gardener with a love for all flowers and of course, an affinity to all things pink. Eva was educated in Medicine Hat schools graduating from Alexandra High School. She began her working career as the front desk secretary for CHAT Radio Station. It is here that she met the love of her life (Stanley). They married in 1953 and together raised four children. Once the children were all in school, Eva worked at a variety of part time jobs eventually retiring from a long time position at the CIBC bank. However, her love of all things fashion related drew her to a part time position at a downtown fashion boutique where she worked for several years after retirement, Music and singing were an integral part of Eva’s life which evolved into numerous activities including singing in various choirs, singing the national anthem at Tiger hockey games, and many roles in musical theatre. Eva is a lifetime member of Medicine Hat Musical Theatre. In their later years, Eva and Stanley continued to share their passion for music by playing and singing in various dance bands. Music will keep her spirit alive in our hearts forever. All who knew Eva were affected by her delightful enthusiasm for life, friends, and family. Eva taught us to live generously, to embrace life joyfully, and to love wholeheartedly. By embracing and living this legacy, we will remember Eva forevermore. The family wishes to express a special thank you to all dedicated staff and volunteers at Good Samaritans for the gentle and loving care they have provided for Eva over the past 10 years.
