Karsten Lund Pedersen, beloved husband of Tracy Pedersen of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 at the age of 59 years. Karsten also leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Danielle (Mark) O’Brien and their children, Kaysen and Kashton of Medicine Hat; one son, Derrick Pedersen of Medicine Hat; his mother, Birthe Pedersen of Abbotsford, British Columbia; two brothers, Jan (Monica) Pedersen and George (Darcy) Pedersen; one sister, Susan (Larry) Pedersen; mother-in-law, Lucy Smale; brother-in-law, Tony Smale; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Karsten and Tracy moved to Medicine Hat in 2009 where he worked in a couple of positions before he proudly joined the team at the Medicine Hat College, where he worked until his passing.
Karsten loved life, and had many hobbies and passions. He loved music, and dabbled in playing the guitar. He really enjoyed working with his hands, and spent a lot of time doing maintenance work, woodworking, renovations, sports and interior decorating. Spending time in the outdoors with his family was a real love for Karsten, where they enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating, and just taking in the beauty of nature. He also loved his flowers, and spent many hours creating beautiful outdoor beds that he was so proud of.
Karsten was very proud of his Danish heritage and often talked about the trip that he, his mother, and Tracy took when they travelled to Denmark back in 1996.
Karsten was most proud of his family, who he would do anything for. His love and best friend Tracy, Danielle and Derrick, and of course his best buddies (and cutest members of Poppa’s fan club) Kaysen and Kashton brought unending hours of laughter, noise and much joy into all their lives.

A Friend To All…

It was a day of celebration as family and friends honoured the life of a remarkable husband, father, son, brother and friend, Jean Lambert. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and the video tribute prepared by Anthony spoke volumes through the memories it shared following Jennifer’s heartfelt tribute to her dad. With his son holding his hand, Daryl and the other pallbearers, Anthony, Jerry, Rick, Doug and Gordon carried Jean to his final resting place at Hillside Cemetery.

Special music from the choir and the solo, “Ave Maria” from Gerry, will forever be treasured in the hearts of all in attendance.

HERBERT ALBERT TINNEY BARNES

1933 ~ 2016
Herb Barnes, beloved husband of Margaret, passed away peacefully while in the loving care of his family on Friday, January 15, 2016, at the age of 82 years. Herb was born in the Medicine Hat Hospital on November 11, 1933 and raised on the family homestead where C.F.B. Suffield now exists until the family moved to town once the Military training ground was developed. Herb faithfully attended Temple Baptist Church up to his passing, and was an active member of the congregation on various positions in the church. At age 19, Herb was involved in a motor vehicle collision which left him a paraplegic. A few years later, he was back at the Medicine Hat Hospital where he met his bride, Margaret (Sura) Barnes of 52 years. In 1963, Herb and Marg built a house in Redcliff, Alberta where he proudly lived until his passing which was his last wish. Over these 52 years of marriage, he was a loving husband and father of Andrew Robert (Terri) Barnes and Thomas Daniel Barnes and brother to Bessie Weigel. He always amazed his family and the community with his kindness and willingness to help others when in need. Herb was a Military buff who followed his father’s history from World War I and World War II, often reading various books and ensuring that all of his father’s artifacts were documented and preserved. Air Craft Model building, Leatherwork and caring for his greenhouse were his passions. Herb was also very active in the Scouting movement, Church and various other community groups. When you think of Herb Barnes, the words loving, caring, integrity and honor are virtues for which he will be remembered. The family would ask that you please remember Herb in your hearts and prayers. Relatives and friends are invited to share in an informal celebration of Herb's life at Temple Baptist Church, 606 – 7 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
