1931 ~ SCHWABE ~ 2015

Mary Agnes Schwabe of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late John Schwabe, passed away on Friday, November 6th, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Mary leaves to cherish her memory four children, Rodney (Cassie), Tim (Rose Doll), Shelley (Ed) Plante, and Merrill (Lee) Green; five grandchildren, Lisa (Jesse) Kuzik, Ed Plante (Tannis Seitz), Marcel Plante (Jenn Short), Jim Plante, and Travis Green; four step grandchildren, Barb, Robert, Jamie, and Diana; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Otto Hoffman; three sisters, Alma Smith, Clara (Ian) McGill, and Martha Carlyle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, John; her parents, Theodore and Mary Hoffman; four brothers, Emil, Albert, Walter and Ernie Hoffman; and one sister, Hilda Weir. Mary was born and raised in Medicine Hat, the youngest in a family of ten. On May 22 of 1954, she married John Schwabe and they farmed in the Longfellow District. They resided there until retiring to Medicine Hat in the summer of 1995. She enjoyed camping, bowling and listening to Bob Ridley’s Tigers Hockey. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Saturday, November 14th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Bredeson officiating. WINNIE EISERMAN

1923 ~ 2015
Winnie Frieda Eiserman, beloved wife of the late Arnold Eiserman, passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice on Sunday, November 8, 2015, at the age of 92 years. Alwinnie Elfrieda Schulze was born on March 21, 1923 in Gravelbourg, SK. to Frederick Wilhelm Schulze and Emma Elizabeth Schmidt. Winnie was trained as a teacher in Moose Jaw, SK. Her first job was at Newheim School where she met the love of her life, Arnold. They were married in 1942 and established their lives on the Eiserman homestead. Over the years, she taught at the local colonies and was fluent in both speaking and writing German. Winnie remained active on the ranch southeast of Walsh, AB, preparing meals, doing yard work and keeping the company books up until she was 91 years of age. She loved to read, meet with her WI ladies group, bake, play bingo and do crafts. She also enjoyed knitting, having made countless sweaters for her church to donate to families in need. Winnie liked to travel and her favorite destination was Australia. Left to cherish Winnie’s memory are her four children, Russell (Annellen) of Slave Lake, Howard (Cindy) of Maple Creek, Allan (Dorothy) of Smoky Lake and Carol of Canmore. Winnie was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and even two great- great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory is her sister, Mildred as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; parents and one sister, Irene. The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James Bredeson officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be held thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. 1951 ~ 2015
With his wife and daughter at his side, Steven William Nielsen of Medicine Hat, AB passed away peacefully on November 8, 2015. He was 64 years old. He is survived by his wife, Connie; his children, Cheryl Fortin (Daniel), Kimber, Andrew and Laura; his grandchildren, Amélie, Micah and Emma-Alby; and his siblings, Joanne Nimitz and Bob Nielsen.
