It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Elmer Halley Hern, beloved husband of Mrs. Lillian Hern, announce his passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the age of 86 years. Harvey Wilfred Good passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the age of 90 years, beloved husband of Frances Good of Medicine Hat. JAMES ALLAN SERGEANT

1933-2015
Jim's family sadly announce his passing on September 7 at 11 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Claire and 5 children, Laura (Ross) Collier, David (Sandra) Pamela, Bradley and Anj, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
For information now we'll have to rely on Google. Jim was so much faster. He had a phenomenal memory and had many an interesting story. He was a 'go to' dad who never let you down. Thank you Jim, dad, papa, great grandpa, for sharing your earthly journey with us. We were/are so blessed.

A Celebration of Jim's life will be held after Laura is released from Rocky View Hospital after having minor surgery in M.H.R.H. August 26.


MICHALCZYK

Stanley Michalczyk (formerly of Medicine Hat) passed away in Vulcan, Alberta on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the age of 90 years, beloved husband of the late Josephine Michalczyk. He leaves to cherish his memory three children Joe (Charlotte) of Whitewood, Saskatchewan, Bernie (Pam) of Medicine Hat and Stacey (Barry) Wheeler of Vulcan; five grandchildren, Richard (Michelle) Michalczyk, Jason Michalczyk, Christine Michalczyk (Carl), Jody Wheeler and Kaitie Michalczyk; his great grandchildren, Brendan, Joey, Julia, Cloaie and Chelsie, two sisters Janett (John) Rajchel and Aliena (Joe) Zakrzewski. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine on November 27, 2006, and two sisters Josephine and Helen. Stanley was born on October 11, 1924 in Rogi, Poland where he married Josephine Muszynski on October 13, 1946. They moved their family to Canada in 1961, and called Brooks home for 45 years. In September of 2006, Josephine and Stanley moved to Medicine Hat and celebrated 60 years of marriage that same year. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Albert Sayson celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. ROONEY, DOMINIC SEAN

October 12, 2012 ~ September 3, 2015
The Rooney family is devastated to announce the death of Dominic, September 3, 2015 in Orlando, Florida. Dom and his parents, Sean and Trish, were there for his wish trip thanks to the Children's Wish Foundation. He got to see Disneyworld and crashed the next day, nearly two years after his diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia.
The family invites the public to a celebration of Dominic's life Monday, September 14, 2 p.m. at the Esplanade theatre in Medicine Hat.
In lieu of gifts or flowers the family requests donations be made in Dominic's name to one of two charities: Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation via Sean's Extra Life team (extra-life.org/team/dominicstrong); or Helping Families Handle Cancer (helpingfamilieshandlecancer.com).

Dorothy Flory Samuel passed away in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 61 years. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11:00 am. with Fr. Philip Le celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Dorothy requested all attendees wear light or bright colors. WOO

Louisa Miu-Ling Woo passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015, at the age of 77 years, beloved wife of Sam Kim-Suan Woo of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory two children, Sandra (Brendon) Boire of Vancouver and Patrick (Nicole) Woo of Hong Kong; three grandchildren, Kristin Boire, Elijah Woo and Annabelle Woo; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends in Canada, the U.S.A. and Hong Kong. She was predeceased by her parents Nga Chung Yee and Sau Wan Chan.
Louisa was born in Hong Kong and attended the Diocesan Girls School, where she was a member of the choir and president of the stamp collecting club. Upon graduation, she worked as a secretary for the Swiss Consulate and Swiss Trade Commission. She married Sam Woo in 1969, and their daughter, Sandra, was born in 1970. They came to Canada in 1970, settling in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where their son, Patrick, was born. The family moved to Medicine Hat in 1974. Louisa worked as a teller at the Bank of Nova Scotia for 21 years, before retiring in 2000. She enjoyed reading, music, stamp and coin collecting and learning the art of Chinese calligraphy and Chinese painting. Thank you to the staff at Masterpiece for the excellent care they gave her over the last few months.
