CHERISHED MEMORY OF

Marlene (Marnie) Pollock, Wife, Friend and Confidant of Donald Richard Walker of Redcliff, succumbed to cancer on May 30, 2015 at the young age of 72. Marnie leaves cherished memories to her loving and dedicated daughter, Tracy Knopp of Lethbridge, a beloved son Ryan Pollock of Calgary. Her close friend and cruising partner, Her dear mother in law, Mrs. Marion Walker was her best friend and world traveling partner. Her 2 other sons and 1 daughter will have fond memories of their mother. She is also remembered by her 5 grandchildren and her only great-grandchild. Her kind and giving nature was beloved by all who knew her and her passing will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Garden Apartments Dining Room, 25 Viscount Avenue SW on Friday, June 19th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.

Memorial gifts in Marnie’s memory may be made to Cancer Research or any charitable foundation of ones choice.

ELSIE GRANT

1915 – 2015

Mrs. Elsie Grant, beloved wife for 63 years of the late George Grant, passed away at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary on June 15, at the age of 100 years 65 days. Elsie leaves a legacy of family and many friends who will cherish her memory always. Everyone is encouraged to remember Elsie privately in their thoughts and prayers.

GLADYS MARGARET SACKMAN

December 20th, 1939 – June 9th, 2015

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gladys Sackman, beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother at the Foothills Medical Centre at the age of 75 following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband of 53 years Melvin Sackman

her son James Sackman, his wife Sandy their children Danielle (John Joleun) and Joel, and her daughter Linda Sackman (Dave Renz) and honorary grandson Mason Powers. She is also survived by her brother Lloyd Murk, brother Phillip (Noreen) Murk and her sister Blanche Clink. She is also survived by Vern and Diane Freimark, Geraldine and Myron Williamson, Phillip and Karen Lounsbury and Rick and Tina Sackman and numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys joins her mother Eva Murk her sister-in-law Fran Murk and brother-in-law Bill Clink to sing with the Angels. Gladys loved children and after raising hers she volunteered and worked at several day cares till her grandchildren were born and then she had a new calling in life, spoiling her grandchildren. Mom had a kind heart and would always put others ahead of her own well being. She refused to be a burden to anyone. Mom had a great love for animals. On more then one occasion food would mysteriously disappear off of her plate and there would be a smiling face of a cat or dog at her feet. Mom loved being outside especially in her garden or camping. She also had a love of music and really enjoyed listening to dad’s band even the practices. You are all invited to to join her family on Sunday, June 21 at St Louis School (861 4 St. S.E.) from 1 to 4 Pm to celebrate and share stories of her life.

1937 ~ 2015

Mrs. Hazel Margaret Drader, beloved wife of the late Marvin Drader, passed away peacefully at the St. Josephâ€™s Home Carmel Hospice while surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the age of 77 years. Hazel will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nicole, Andrea (Wade), Debbie (Louie), Dennis and Darryl. JACK STEWART SCHWEITZER

April 25, 1927 ~ June 10, 2015

Mr. Jack Stewart Schweitzer, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Mary Schweitzer, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at the age of 88 years. Jack was born in Lethbridge, AB. on April 25, 1927, to Harvey and Jessie Schweitzer. He grew up in Lethbridge and graduated from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute in 1945. He married Mary McElgunn in Lethbridge on October 24, 1949. Following graduation, Jack worked for Enerson Motors in Lethbridge. He then embarked on a 31.5 year career with AGT, starting on January 1, 1950 and retiring as an Outside Plant Engineering Manager on April 25, 1982. He had an outgoing personality with a sense of humor to match, loved meeting people and telling stories to everyone. Jack enjoyed challenges and new adventures which included his motorbike rides, waterskiing as well as building and racing boats, including the one he named after his children, â€œPAMIDIJOâ€. An avid sportsman, he proudly excelled at duck and pheasant hunting, belly boat and fly fishing as well as oil painting. Music was a big part of Jackâ€™s life. He enjoyed playing the saxophone, flute, drums and was a past participant in the Medicine Hat Jazz Fest. He was also a proud member of pipe bands in both Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. Jack was involved in numerous sporting activities over the years; he golfed as a member of the Riverview Golf Club and volunteered at the PGA Air Canada Championships, curled in league play in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat and with the winning team for the AGT Brier in 1969. Jack also played hockey with the Lethbridge Native Sons and was a long-time season ticket holder with the Tigers Hockey Club. As busy as he was, he still managed the time needed to establish a boating club at the St. Maryâ€™s Dam, building a kitchen and spending many Sundays there with the family. Jack loved camping and boating with his family in Waterton, boating in Twin Lakes Idaho and trips to Kelowna and Shuswap for houseboating. He was active in the Lethbridge Teenage Club, Sea Cadets as a Commanding Officer, Fly Tying Club and the AGT/Telus Coffee Club. Jack will be forever remembered in the hearts of his children, Patricia Schweitzer, Mike Schweitzer, Diane (Dave) Ruckman and Joanne Schweitzer; sister, Pat (Jim) Peacocke; grandchildren, Calen (Morgan) Ruckman, Leah Ruckman and Meghan (Erin) Jasper; great-grandchildren, Graceynn, Mabel, Eli and Stella as well as a niece, Donna and nephews, Dan, Rod and Bob. The family would to especially like to thank Paddy and Mel Harrison for their love and support. A Celebration of Jackâ€™s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Private Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship and refreshments thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility.
