Alice Margaret Lambert, beloved wife of Oliver Lambert of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, January 29th, 2015 at the age of 86 years. Alice also leaves to cherish her memory one brother; two sisters; three brothers-in-law; two sisters- in-law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her parents; seven siblings; and three step-siblings. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be said at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Wednesday, February 4th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Thursday, February 5th, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Albert Sayson, Celebrant. It is with deep sadness that the family announces that on Thursday January 29, 2015 Cecilia Helfrich beloved mom, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away at the age of 83 years. But she is rejoicing as her loving and lifetime friend, Tony and her two boys, Rod and Bernie met her at heaven’s gate. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Art (Jeanette) Helfrich, Rhonda (Jerome) Mastel, Yvonne and (Curtis) Eirich; her daughter-in-law, Sandy Helfrich; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three brothers, John (Mary) Kosolofski, Sam Kosolofski and Ralph (Ann) Kosolofski; two sisters, Terry (Adam) Mastel and Pauline Both as well as extended family and friends. Cecilia was predeceased by her parents, Eva and Anton Kosolofski; her husband Tony on March 21, 1998; her two sons, Rodney and Bernard and many numerous family and friends. .LAZAR GEORGE ANDJELIC
September 7, 1952 – January 27, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother at the age of 62. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Savka, his sons Sava and George (Lenka) and daughter Nada Andjelic. He is also survived by his precious grandson Nikola and sisters Zora (Doug) Warwickand Angela Andjelic. Lazar is predeceased by his parents Jovan and Gladys. Also left to cherish his memory are many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Lazar was born in Medicine Hat Alberta where he had the happiest of childhoods. In 1967 the family moved to Golden until he completed high school and then moved to Calgary where he met Savka. They married in 1975, lived in Hope B.C. and finally settled in New Westminster. During his 25 years in sales he was employed by Frieden Fine Foods, Gainers Meats, and Fletchers Fine Foods. He was a dedicated salesman providing quality products and service to his customers. In his last years he took great pride in his landscaping business and the care and attention he provided to his clients. His passion was being with his animals and nature. As a young boy he raised dozens of homing pigeons which he continued to do throughout his life. He was an avid member of the North Road Racing Pigeon Club. Lazar was a long time and active member of St. Sava Serbian Church and community. A funeral service will be held at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 505 East 63rd Ave., Vancouver, B.C., at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015with Very Reverend Miroslav Dejanov officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby, B.C. It is with sadness that the family of Neil Dragland announce his passing which occurred in Bow Island at the age of 56. Neil is survived by his father, Vern Dragland; his mother, Margaret (Ian) Anderson and his brother, Lyle Dragland. He was predeceased by his brother, Glen Dragland. A Celebration of Neil’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Norman Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship and refreshments thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. 1917 ~ 2015
Mrs. Rhoda Evelyn Bain (nee Crockford), beloved wife of the late Mr. James Bain, passed away with her family at her side on Thursday, January 29th, 2015, at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, at the age of 98 years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Linda Pearson of Calgary; two granddaughters, Tracy (Mike) Anderson of Hussar, and Cindy Pearson of Calgary; two great- grandsons, Colten Anderson and Dexter Pearson; one sister-in-law, Bev Crockford of Medicine Hat. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Rhoda was predeceased by her husband Jim Bain; daughter, Sharon Campbell; sons-in-law, Doug Pearson and Elwood Campbell as well as all her siblings including sisters, Cicely and Caroline; brothers, James, Ray, Len, Jack, Scotty, Rodney, Walter and Colin. Rhoda was born January 13th, 1917 in Medicine Hat, and was married in 1941. After the war was over, they moved to Edmonton, where they resided until Jim’s retirement. Shortly after that, they made their way back home to Medicine Hat. Rhoda’s life will be celebrated at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Lance Duncalfe officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a luncheon thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. Vaughan will be remembered by his wife, Mary Armstrong and his son, Todd (Jocelyn) Hullock. Vaughan’s life will be silently remembered with ceremonial placement in the Hillside Cemetery garden.
