.FRANCHETTO
Renato Fiorino Franchetto, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at the age of 50 years, loving father of Katie Franchetto and husband of Karen Franchetto of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sister Loretta (Larry) Lutz and their children, Trevor and Krysten; one brother Marco (Sarah) and their children Santino and Dahnya as well as his aunts, uncles and other family members. Renato graduated from McCoy High School in 1982 and attended SAIT the following fall to study computers. After obtaining his degree, he realized he wanted to do something else and decided to obtain his teaching degree at the University of Lethbridge. He’d found his passion. For the next 30 years Renato gave to the children. His teaching career began in Fort McMurray. He touched the lives of countless staff, students their families and communities. He substitute taught in both the Medicine Hat Catholic and Public School Divisions. In addition he taught in both Burstall and Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. In 2011, he became the principal and upper years teacher of Spring Creek Hutterite Colony School. He was one of the most dedicated teachers around and often tutored his former students long after he had quit teaching them, even though busy with his own life, he always made time for them. Renato was a generous and caring man, a spiritual musician, a fabulous teacher, a wonderful brother, friend and loving father. He could pick up any instrument or hear a few notes of any song and be able to play it. Renato also enjoyed playing tennis and was good at it too. He spent many hours on the court. However, Renato’s greatest joy came later in his life, in 2009, when he and Karen became parents to their precious daughter Katie. He loved her more than can be written in words. Our hearts are broken, you left us much too early. We take comfort in knowing you are with Mom and Dad in paradise. Though the piano stands silent today, may the memory of the sound it made yesterday carry us all through tomorrow.
