It is with deep sadness the family of Marion K. Sept announces her passing on Friday, July 4, 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kathy (Glen), Don (Bev), David (Patty) and Greg Sept; grandchildren, Laura, Alissa, Robyn and Karli; and great grandson, Jaxon. She is also survived by her sister, Jerry Sharp. Marion was predeceased by her loving husband, Ray; her parents, Clayton and Idella Moore; and grandson, Mark Congdon. Marion was born in Medicine Hat and resided here her whole life. She was always active in the community being involved in the Kinettes, the Horticultural Society and Communities in Bloom. She loved her garden and flowers. She will be forever remembered by her family and many friends. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday. .MURRAY JAMES RICHARDSON

Murray James Richardson passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Friday, July 4, 2014. Murray was born on December 3, 1932, in Neepawa, Manitoba, and grew up on the family farm as the oldest of 4. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jacqueline Shirley (nee Stone); children: Tracy Thomson (Laurie) and their children, Callie Thomson (Josh Mathieu), Rory Thomson, Hailey Thomson (Joel Locken) along with great-grandchildren, Ciarra, Skyler and Hayden Mathieu, Olivia and Zen Locken; Derik Richardson (Jan) and their daughters, Ailish, Mackenzie and Abigail; Loni O’Hearne (Jimmy); their daughters, Cezanne, Christina and Tayler; daughter-in-law, Ann and her daughters, Jayme Richardson (Ron Mason) and Jodi Adrian (Phil) with grandchildren, Carter and Payten Adrian. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Collins (Ken) of Winnipeg, MB.; brother, Ron Richardson (Lois) of Penticton, BC. and sister-in-law, Dale Richardson of Spokane, Washington as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Murray was predeceased by his oldest son, Terrence; brother, Malcolm (Mac); nephews, Paul and Greg and his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth. Cats held a particularly special place in Murray’s life, and “Sassy” was his final pet. He had many treasured cats over the years and was incredibly attentive to their needs – to the point that one of his relatives once quipped, “When I die, I want to come back as Murray’s cat!” He Joined Manitoba Power Commission and obtained his Journeyman Lineman’s papers in 1954, having worked in several districts and on construction. Murray Joined CPL in June 1954, as Assistant District Manager at Red Deer and also served in Edmonton. He returned to Red Deer as Acting District Manager and Assistant until 1960, when he moved to Foremost as District Manager. Murray then served as District Manager at Holden, Warner and eventually retired as District Manager in Medicine Hat. Over the years and many communities in which he worked, Murray became involved in the Masonic Lodge, Chamber of Commerce, Lion’s Club and was even a volunteer firefighter. Murray was a patient teacher to his many grandchildren. He loved to visit, a skill he perfected during his many years working within the farming and ranching communities in which he was employed. He was a carpentry perfectionist and was always willing to lend a hand on both simple tasks and special projects for his family and friends. Murray was an avid hockey fan and loved to attend Tiger games. A Celebration of Murray’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Private Interment will take place prior to the service, and a time of fellowship will follow the service in the Cook Southland Reception Center. Though Murray lost his struggle with lung disease, the battle rages on as his daughter Tracy currently awaits a lung transplant. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Murray may do so through a donation to Tracy’s transplant fund. Ron will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Ron passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the age of 83 years, surrounded by his family. Ron is survived by his 5 children, Tamara (Mark Schmidt), Roxanne (Wes Taylor), Greg (Cherry Dodge), Tracey (Todd Jones) & Natalie (Andrew Hudec); and by his 13 grandchildren, Stephanie, Madison & Markus Schmidt; Amanda & Ryan Taylor; Dayna & Kaylyn Schnell; Megan, Ben, Sam & Trisha Jones; and Erin & Zackary Hudec. Ron is also survived by his brothers, Don and Hugh Schnell. He was predeceased by his mother, Amelia; father, Frank; his brother, Lawrence; and his sisters, Shirley and Betty. Alethea “Lee” Mae Wutch (nee Kurpjuweit) of Medicine Hat passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the age of 74 years, beloved wife of the late Melvin Wutch. Born November 19, 1939 in Medicine Hat, she was raised on the family farm southeast of the city where she was her dad’s right-hand man. Alethea attended grade school at Wolchester and Willow Lake Schools then for high school, she boarded at Hillcrest Christian College in Medicine Hat and later attended Garbitts Business College. She married Melvin Wutch on August 2, 1958 and they moved into their first home where she resided until her health declined. On April 23, 2014 she moved into care at St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice until her passing. She was an active gardener and long standing member of the Medicine Hat Horticultural Society. Her home reflected her love of flowers, decorating and crafting. It was featured on the Christmas Decorating Tour and her gardens were part of the Summer Garden Tour. Alethea won many awards for her flowers every year at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede. After a long career in Real Estate & Property Management, she retired two weeks after her diagnosis of Mesothelioma in March of 2009. During her long courageous battle with cancer, she showed great strength, faith and tenacity. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Todd Wutch and Tricia (Brent) Mace all of Medicine Hat; four grandchildren, Curtis, Cody, Ryley and Taylor; one great grandson, Bradley; four sisters, Beatrice “Bea” (John) Virostek of Lethbridge, Marion Freimuth of Rainier, Marlyne (Russell) Johnson of Vauxhall and Edna McFall of Medicine Hat as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Martha and Norman Kurpjuweit, her husband Melvin on September 5, 2011 and her daughter-in-law Elaine Rieger on October 2, 2011. The family would like to thank Dr. Foley as well as a huge thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice for their fantastic care and attention to Lee.
