.1922 ~ PRICE ~ 2013
Evelyn Price, of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, November 7th, 2013 at the age of 91 years. The daughter of Ferdinand and Kathrine Kurpjuweit, she was raised on a farm south of Seven Persons. She was blessed with a life of simplicity and beauty which she created in her own way. Her memories were rich, riding a pony to a school house as a little girl or tending and appreciating the elegance of her gardens as grown woman. After World War II she married Al Price. Evelyn said goodbye to her loving husband when he passed away in 1983. Her golden years were spent with her friend and love Bill MacGregor. They enjoyed their lives together, travelling, playing cards (crib mostly), and arguing on any topic of her choosing. She will be forever loved and cherished by her children, Donna-Ray and Daryl, Raymond and Joan, Rick and Lucy, Garth and Cheryl and their children and grandchildren. Her family would like to thank Dr. Jeraj and all the professionals who cared for Evelyn when she needed them most. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you tell someone that “You Love Them.” There will be a private graveside service at Hillside Cemetery in the spring of 2014. Mr. Robert “Bob” Elton, beloved husband of Marthe Elton of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, November 7th, 2013 at the age of 84 years. Bob also leaves to cherish his three children John Elton of Medicine Hat, Lorraine (Rick) Parker of Medicine Hat and Wayne (Nancy) Elton of, Storthoaks Saskatchewan; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; one brother Bud (Marguerite) Elton of Cadillac Saskatchewan: two sisters, Laverne Miller of Vernon B.C. and Orma (Gilbert) Johnson of Salmn Arm B.C. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Gladys, his daughter Yvette Elton; one great grandchild and two brothers Lloyd and Lorne Elton. Bob was born in Cadillac Saskatchewan on March 31st, 1929 where he was also raised and educated. In 1949, he moved to Redvers Saskatchewan to work where he met and married Martha. They were married on October 24th,1950 in Bellegard Saskatchewan. They relocated to Storthoaks district for about fifteen years where he worked for R.E Line Trucking Co and in 1970 he started his own business, contracting to the oil field companies. In the fall of 1980 they moved to Medicine Hat where he was employed by Bralorn Resources until he retired in 1990. He loved to ski doo and repair small engines as a past time. He will always be remembered for the quick wit and love of family and friends. Mrs. Anna “Ann” Bell, beloved wife of Mr. Ronald Bell of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, November 6th, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Anna also leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Garth (Greta) of St. Albert, Wesley of New Paltz, New York, and Sherry (Gianfranco) Dalla-Longa of Medicine Hat; her five grandchildren, Stephanie (Tobië) Laliberte, Serafina Dalla-Longa ( Luke Lundgard), Justine, Rebecca and Brooke Bell; two great grandchildren, Luca and Mateo; one brother, Valentine “Walter” (Victoria) Deis; one sister, Christina Dirk; two brothers-in-law, Jack Kuntz and William “Bill” (Shirley) Bell; four sisters-in-law, Anne Deis, Mae Deis, Rose Deis and Nellie Bischoff; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Valentine and Elizabeth Deis; two sisters, Elizabeth (Exi) Sehn and Eva Kuntz; six brothers, Casper, Peter (Hattie) Adam, Joe (Eva) Frank and Tony; one brother-in-law, baby Bell. Ann was born near Fox Valley, Saskatchewan on the family farm and attended Oadas School before moving into Fox Valley and attending Fox Valley School. She then relocated to Medicine Hat where she met and married Ron Bell. During their nearly 61 years together they always treasured their time spent with their family during vacations each year as well as all of the other activities that the children participated in. After Ron’s retirement they enjoyed their cruises and other many trips to various parts of the world. Ann’s faith was always very important to her and she maintained a deep trust in God. The children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were always her pride and joy. Vigil Rites (prayers) will be said at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday, November 11th, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Tuesday, November 12th, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Father Philip Le, celebrant. Verda Mary Johnston passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at the age of 88 years, beloved wife of the late Edward Johnston. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Don (Karen) of Medicine Hat and two grandchildren, Dwayne (Shandi) and Stephanie (Aaron) Gow; one sister, Pearl (Parley) Bagley as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Ruby and Lorraine Clifton; her husband Edward on January 25, 2010 and two brothers, Elmer and George. Margery Dupuis, beloved wife of the late Edward Dupuis, passed away peacefully at the Masterpiece River Ridge on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the age of 80 years. Margery’s memory will be cherished by her daughters, Susan (Kim) Robertson of Alsask, Saskatchewan and Denise (Rocky) Houff of Medicine Hat; son, Larry (Phyllis) Sundstrom of Peachland, B.C.; grandchildren, Taylor Frank and Mike Sundstrom and Wes Sundstrom; four great-grandchildren, Jake, Gabe, Ali and Rylan; siblings, Roger and Jane as well as numerous extended family. Margery was born December 10, 1932 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. Throughout her life she moved several times, residing in various communities in British Columbia and Alberta. She was very hospitable and operated numerous restaurants in her day. When she wasn’t working, she loved to crochet in her spare time and made many unique items over the years. Margery liked people and was a social butterfly. She could talk to anyone and really enjoyed to sit down and have a beer with her friends. Life changed when her husband, Edward passed away in 2005. Now they are together again. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so beginning one hour prior to the Celebration of Margery’s life which will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating.
