A Calgary man accused of committing drug-related offences in Lethbridge has been ordered to stay away from the city unless he’s scheduled to attend court.
Charles Edward Sitek was released from custody Wednesday on $5,000 bail and a promise to pay that amount should he breach any conditions of his release.
Sitek is one of four people arrested earlier this month during a police investigation into suspected drug trafficking in Lethbridge.
On Feb. 1 police observed activity consistent with drug trafficking. A man was arrested following a targeted traffic stop and police seized about 162 grams of fentanyl, seven grams of methamphetamine and nearly eight grams of cocaine, along with $300 cash proceeds of crime.
Police searched a local hotel room where they seized nearly 616 grams of cocaine, 18 grams of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and approximately $28,000 cash proceeds of crime.
The estimated street value of all the drugs seized is over $100,000.
Sitek, 30, is charged with two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime. His next court hearing is set for March 7.
Zachary Tracyn Randolf Bottle, 26, of Fort Macleod, is charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, and single counts of possession of the proceeds of crime and breach of a conditional sentence order. Bottle, who remains in custody, returns to court next Thursday
Edward Alexander Goodrich, 53, of Granum, is charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court next Friday.
Marty Lee Fransen, 49, of Lethbridge, is charged with three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime. He also remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear in court Feb. 29.
