Cardston COVID outbreak linked to two deaths

By Gillian Slade on March 11, 2021.

A COVID outbreak in the Cardston Health Centre has now been linked to two deaths, says Alberta Health Services (AHS).
An outbreak was declared at the Cardston Health Centre on Feb. 25 and at that stage AHS advised there had been four patients associated with that facility who had tested positive for COVID and there was one death linked to the outbreak.
According to the latest information available from an online AHS report, the number of positive cases has now been corrected to three. However the number of deaths connected to this outbreak has increased to two.
Visitation at Cardston Health Centre is currently restricted to end-of-life situations.
At Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge an outbreak was declared in one unit of the facility on Feb. 28. So far only one patient associated with this unit has tested positive.
Visitation at Chinook Regional Hospital is also restricted to end-of-life situations.
