February events at Lethbridge library

By Greg Bobinec on February 4, 2021.

The Lethbridge Public Library has a number of activities planned for the month of February for everyone to take part in.
On Feb. 23, at 7 p.m., the Library will be hosting an online discussion called So You Want to Run for Office: Women in Local Government. The discussion will follow the importance of having women in government, and the unique situations they face. The discussion features Lisa Lambert from the University of Lethbridge, and the Q&A panel includes Mayor of Nanton Jennifer Handley, and Councillor in Coalhurst Heather Caldwell.  To register for this event, visit lethlib.ca.
On Feb. 24, the Library will be hosting a session to help people navigate through the COVID-19 benefits, with an Outreach Officer from the Canadian Revenue Agency. They will explain what benefits are currently available, and who is eligible for each benefit. This event will take place at 2 p.m. via Zoom, register online at lethlib.ca.
Throughout the year, Lethbridge Public Library is also hosting a Read the World 2021 Teen Challenge where teens are encouraged to read a book written by someone from every continent, and take part in special global travel programming throughout the year. To download the Reading Passport, visit the Library’s website.
