newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com The Unison at Veiner Centre is hosting an Earth Day-themed dinner event on April 16 to celebrate Mother Nature, and guests will be able to plant a tree in honour of the occasion. “Plant trees, save the Earth and enjoy a delicious meal with friends and fellow community members,” reads a promotional ad. Veiner centre members and non-members are invited to attend the themed dinner that will include gnocchi alfredo, peas, roasted Brussels sprouts and spinach salad. The Earth Day dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. on April 16 with a cost of $15 per person. Registration is required. Earth Day 2025 will be celebrated around the globe on April 22. This year’s theme is “It’s our Power, it’s our Planet.” Paint night Just in time for Mother’s Day the Unison at Veiner Centre will be hosting another evening of painting taught by local artist Paintergirl, who will teach techniques required to paint a flower. The event welcomes artists of all skill levels, from beginner to expert, and by the end of the evening participants will paint a “stunning floral masterpiece to take home.” “Come immerse yourself in a relaxing and inspiring environment, allowing your artistic spirit to flourish,” reads a promotional ad. Registration is required for the event that runs three hours May 6 beginning at 6 p.m. The cost for members is $35 and $40 for non-members; all supplies will be included. Bus tours More information has been released on two bus tours being planned this summer that include trips to the Rosebud Theatre and Spruce Meadows. There are still seats available for both day trips that include transportation and a ticket to the event. The Rosebud Theatre trip will be held in July and that Spruce Meadows trip is planned for early September. More information can be found on the Veiner Centre’s website. Later this month the Veiner Centre will host an information session on a week-long Canadian East Coast cruise planned for 2026. The session runs 1-3 p.m. on April 22 in the Craft Room. 17
