The Unison at Veiner Centre is inviting residents in the community aged 50 and older to participate in a new fall prevention program designed to reduce the risk of tumbles and improve overall well-being.

Eight free classes called “Steady Moves” are planned to begin in the new year at the Veiner Centre, co-ordinated by the population Health Promotion Team with AHS, which partnered with Ever Active Schools.

The eight weekly sessions feature insights into evidence-based fall prevention strategies provided by expert guest speakers and an hour-long guided workout focused on strengthening muscles and improving balance.

“Take the first step toward a safer, healthier future by joining the dynamic and informative program,” states a press release.

Classes are scheduled to run for eight consecutive weeks, every Thursday beginning Jan. 9, and will run from 1-2:30 p.m.

For more information on the free classes, or if you require assistance with registration, call 403-502-8238.
