The 7 over 70 Gala, as hosted by Community Foundation of Medicine Hat and Southeastern Alberta, will enjoy a completely packed audience next Thursday.

This event celebrates “the exceptional accomplishments of seven remarkable seniors, all over the age of 70, whose passion, innovation, and leadership have made a lasting impact in our region,” said CFSEA.

This year’s honourees are Jacob Eckert from Brooks, Deborah Forbes from Medicine Hat, Nancy Hanson from Oyen area, Wilma Hunter from Brooks, Martha Munz Gue from Medicine Hat, Blair Reid from Cypress County and Bill Yuill from Medicine Hat for their various contributions and accomplishments.

The Top 7 Over 70 Gala is part of a broader initiative; founded in 2017 by Jim Gray, the Top 7 Over 70 initiative celebrates innovative or new achievements of older individuals.

“These community champions make significant contributions in fields such as science, education, health, sports, agriculture, philanthropy, and the arts beyond the age of 70 – demonstrating the ongoing impact of those who defy age norms, shape our world, and continue to inspire,” said CFSEA.
