Two city sprays parks closed on the weekend, but two others will remain open until the end of the month, weather permitting.

Locations at Strathcona Island Park and Kiwanis Central Park will close for the season at the end of the day on Sunday, Sept. 29, the parks department has announced.

Spray parks at Ross Glen and Saamis Rotary Park were shut down for the season this past weekend.

Earlier this month, the city’s recreation department announced that due to the longer than expected work to renovate the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre at the Big Marble Go Centre, Hill Pool would remain open until Sept. 29 for outdoor swimming. That facility is set to undergo structural work and renovations before the summer of 2025.

The pool at Big Marble is now tentatively set to reopen Oct. 11, until which time the Crestwood Rec Centre pool still has operating hours extended to include Sundays.
