Portions of roadway closed off this summer are re-opening with more work scheduled to be completed this month.

Old Cemetery Road – which connects Division Avenue on the South Hill to Kipling Street and the College Avenue intersection – reopened to traffic on Sunday, though detours along Division Avenue will remain in place as paving, trail development, lane adjustments are completed, along with curb and gutter work continue.

It is closed at 10th Street, as well as major intersection at Seventh Street.

“Weather permitting, this phase of the Division Avenue South Rehabilitation project will be completed by the end of September,” according to a release from the municipal works dept.

Elsewhere, city infrastructure officials announced in late August that timelines on major rehabilitation work on and around Third Street downtown is proceeding on schedule that will see some portions closed until late in the construction season. The 600 Block is now being paved, while the final stage of the six-phase project to update century old piping will continue in 2025 with portions of Sixth Avenue Businesses in the area remain open during the contracted work.
