Saturday barbecue hosted by drug coalition honours those lost

In honour of loved ones who have passed due to overdose, the Medicine Hat Drug Coalition is hosting its annual barbecue in the name of both prevention and awareness. The event will be hosted outside the Medicine Hat Public Library on Saturday from 1-4 p.m., and will include a free barbecue and an open microphone to give a platform for people to share their experiences or stories of loved ones lost to the “toxic drug crisis,” said the MHDC. In honour of International Overdose Awareness Day, there will also be a memorial wall, naloxone training, community information stations and more. 4-3
